    Default Bought a mango--now what?!!

Have never purchased a mango before!! It's sitting in the fridge glaring at me every time I open the door.

How do I cut it and prepare it to eat? I have had them before but they have always been prepared.

Feeling very silly at this point!!

You can peel off the skin and eat it straight. You can also incorporate it into your salads or add it to your smoothies. Its very versatile and tastes really good!

Put some mango cubes in the blender with some fat free yogurt and a splash of milk and make a mango lassi!

I love mango. Just peel it, stone it sort of like an avocado, and cut it up into wedges. Yum yum. It sort of tastes sweet and piny, like a sweet christmas tree. That sounds weird but they're really good.

You have to develop a technique, but there is nothing like fresh mango in the summer!

    GG,

I'm with you on the peeling/pitting part- it's an extreme mess. However, fresh really does make a difference. I've bought frozen mango chunks, and they're nowhere near as wonderful (fine in a smoothie, but not great for just eating). Plus the smell of a mango when you cut it is...well...<sigh>...worth the mess! Just don't plan on serving the squished up and half-juiced chunks to guests!

Funny you should mention Mango.................my husband came home from work today telling me about this guy he works with and how he eats his Mango's.........My husband says he took the whole Mango and beat it in his hand until it was soft, than cut the top of and sucked out the inside. The guy said it tasted great and was no mess. I guess that is a quick way to make a mango smoothee! LOL/.

Mango is my luxury breakfast or fancy company dessert!

As weird as it sounds, I LOVE fresh mango with chili powder sprinkled on top. For dessert, I like to serve the mango in a pretty design with vanilla ice cream. It's such a refreshing and DELICIOUS treat.

My DH and I like to make mango daquiris....
If ever I save some flexies and decide to have a drink, we get the fresh mango, make the mess  , then add some ice, and either coconut rum or banana rum....Mmmm.....

But I agree with everyone.....alone is yummy....little FF frozen yogurt! Allright, I'm getting hungry here!!!
