    Default Creamy Italian Chicken ?

I think I once saw a recipe on here for Creamy Italian Chicken which was made with dry Italian dressing, cream cheese and was made in the crock pot. I tried to recreate it, but definitely did something a bit off. It wasn't good and the first time I had it ~ It was great.

    Smile Creamy Italian Chicken 2

Since I initially posted, a friend of mine sent me this recipe, which is more similar to the one I was thinking about. I haven't yet run it through my mastercook for values. But I will so I don' lose it this time!!! I think this one would be a bit lower in points as it doesn't call for a cube of butter (and who doesn;t love butter ). I would also count as 4 servings. I will re-post the values when I get those entered.

    Creamy Italian Chicken

4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
1 envelope dry Italian salad dressing mix
    1/4 c water
8 oz cream cheese -- softened
1 can cream of chicken soup -- undiluted
4 oz can mushroom stems and pieces -- drained
    Hot cooked rice or pasta

Place the chicken breast halves in the crockpot.
    Combine the Italian dressing mix and water until smooth;
pour over top of chicken. Cover; cook on low for 3 hours.
Combine the cream cheese and soup until smooth and blended.
Stir in mushroom pieces. Pour soup mixture over chicken.
Cook 1 hour more or until chicken is cooked through.
Serve over hot cooked rice or pasta.

    Yields: 4 servings

I've made it and it is really awesome! To me, it's worth saving the 10 points for.

I remember when I made it correctly it was delicious!! But when I tried to recreate it, I didn't use the soup and only used 1/4 cup water (couldn't remember all the ingredients) . A little hint ~~~ don't do that. FOLLOW the recipe!!! I agree it worth the points and quite delicious!
