Thread: Maple Country-Style Ribs

    1 1/2 lbs country-style boneless pork ribs
    1/3 cup maple syrup
    1 tablespoon soy sauce
    2 tablespoons dried minced onion, or use fresh
    1/4 tsp cinnamon
    1/4 tsp ginger
    1/4 tsp allspice
    1/2 tsp garlic powder
    dash of pepper

    Place pork in the crockpot. Combine remaining ingredients; pour over pork.
    Cover and cook on low for 7 to 9 hours. Serves 4.

    I ran this recipe thru mastercook .. but only had the NI for the pork ribs WITH bones, not boneless. So i still just used the 1 1/2 pounds, but if you used 1 1/2 pounds of the boneless country style ribs, it would be more points.

    9 points made with pork country-style ribs - with bones, NOT BONELESS
    Per Serving (excluding unknown items): 353 Calories; 22g Fat (55.9% calories from fat); 20g Protein; 19g Carbohydrate; trace Dietary Fiber; 80mg Cholesterol; 327mg Sodium. Exchanges: 0 Grain(Starch); 3 Lean Meat; 0 Vegetable; 1 1/2 Fat; 1 Other Carbohydrates.

    If you wanted boneless ribs and guessed to get the same amount of meat listed in the recipe that you'd need about 1/2 pound MORE of the ribs with the bones in, the NI goes to 11.3 points for boneless (Guestimate ? Don't know if an additional 1/2 pound is too much bone weight)

    Actually I think that "country-style boneless pork ribs" are made from pork loin not the rib meat - so they would be much less points than traditional ribs.
    I only know because i always look at these and thing "man i wonder if they would taste as good as real ribs"

    I'll try to find the NI for the ribs-

    OK - here's what I found:
    "...pork country-style ribs = pork country-style loin ribs = pork country ribs = pork blade end country spareribs Notes: These have more meat than spareribs or back ribs, but they aren't as easy to eat with fingers. Allow 1/2 pound per person. They come boneless (pictured) or bone-in. Substitutes: pork spareribs (less meaty and fatty) OR pork back ribs (less meaty and fatty still)..."
