HELP! I have this in the crockpot right now, at least the meat, tomatoes, and water. Do I add the cheese now or later? Is ricotta okay to use instead of cottage cheese? Anyone???

I made this for tonight's dinner. I browned and drained lean ground beef before putting it in the crockpot and I skipped the onions. Instead of the seasonings listed, I sprinkled Italian seasoning instead. It cooked for 6 hours. I had to lift the lid a couple times to stir, so all the noodles would cook.

    It's very filling...and a keeper!

I have a class to take on Friday, so I've planned on making this again. We love it! If you've not tried it, you're really missing something great.

Wow, I hope I can find a WW lasagna noodle - if so, this would be Core (using FF cheese, of course.)

I made this on Sunday for me and my hubby....it was fabulous! I cooked the turkey before hand and then put everything in except the pasta and cooked it for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. I broke the pasta up and put in and cooked it for another 2 1/2 hours! It was sooooo good! My husband loved it!!!! I did add the extra water and I kept the tomato paste! My DH has had it for supper Monday and Tuesday night and I had it for supper Monday night and for lunch on Tuesday! It goes a long way when there is only two of you.

I tried this tonight with mixed results. I added wine (I know, points! worth it though) instead of water. Put sauce in the bottom of crock (after browning burger and onions and garlic) the ww noodles laid on top and then cheeses. It did NOT take 7-9 hrs on low BUT ONLY 5 hrs! The noodles were mushy even laying on top. I don't see any way around mushy noodles (ww) unless added last hour or just before serving.....all else was good though....Linda

This recipes was fabulous. Thanks so much for posting. Here are my adjustments. I browned the ground turkey before putting in the crockpot. Instead of ff cottage, I used ff ricotta and also ff kraft shredded mozarella. I am new to figuring points out so I don't know if any of the stuff I did reduced my serving points from 6 or not. Instead of breaking up lasagna noodles, I used half a box of barilla campanelle (ruffled) pasta shapes and only added them at the last hour of cooking. I also added all of the mozarella except for half a cup at the beginning and then added the final 1/2 cup during the last 10 minutes or so of cooking so that the cheese melted over the top like a real lasagna. Delicious. Thanks again.

I browned the onion (and 1 clove fresh garlic) in Pam olive oil spray. Lasagne is cooking right now and it smells outstanding. Thanks again for the recipe.

Heya! Quick question about this - what size crockpot?
I've been reading lately that if the crock isn't 2/3 full it won't cook correctly (can you tell i'm new to crock pots!?!)

I'm going to try this the Core way. Sounds like i need to throw the ww noodles in late - how long do they need to cook?

    Thanks again!

Ok, I've GOT to find some WW pasta. This is a really good recipe and I'm not all that much of a fan of lasagna.

I bought several packages - got all excited - got them home and found out they were a BLEND!*%^$&#* URGH!!!

Thanks for listening while I got that off my chest.

I made this last week. I cooked it for 3 hours and I added the noodles after 2 hours.

The consistency of this was great. It probably would've tasted good too but the tomatoes I used had sugar in them and it was so sweet I wound up having to throw the entire thing away. ( I didn't realize that they put sugar in canned tomatoes)

Be careful when getting your canned/diced/crushed tomatoes and read the label and make sure "high fructose" or anything else sugar like isn't an ingredient!

I'll be trying this again in the near future, without the sugared tomatoes!
