    This is quick, easy, DH and kid-friendly!!

    CRANBERRY CHICKEN Makes 8 servings. WW POINTS: 7
    1 1/2 to 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken (I put in frozen)
    1 can (16 ounces) whole berry (or jellied) cranberry sauce
    1 bottle (8 ounces) fat-free French, Thousand or Catalina salad dressing (I used fat-free Catalina)
    1 package (1 1/2 ounces) dried onion soup mix (optional) (I used 1/2 package)

    Spray the crockpot with Pam. Mix together all ingredients in crockpot except for the chicken, then added the chicken and mixed to coat the chicken with the sauce. One pot cooking = less dishes
    I cooked it for approximately 8 hours.

    Great over rice, mashed potatoes or noodles?? (These would be extra points)

    Could replace the chicken with pork chops, hotdogs, or ???

    Can also be done in the oven:
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Arrange chicken in a 9- by 13-inch baking pan. In a medium bowl, mix the rest of the ingredients. Pour mixture over the chicken and bake, 45 minutes for boneless chicken or
    1 hour for bone-in chicken. 342.28 Cal (12.10% from Fat, 42.40% from Protein, 45.50% from Carb); 35.62 g Protein; 4.52 g Tot Fat; 38.19 g Carb; 0.95 g Fiber; 30.69 mg Calcium; 1.37 mg Iron; 534.07 mg Sodium;
    40.46 IU Vit A; 1.52 mg Vit C; 96.74 mg Cholesterol

    My Mom has been making this recipe (in the oven) for years, and invariably it's a hit with everyone.

    I've made this on top of the stove. I have not used the onion soup mix in mine. That would be interesting. I wonder if the points would be differenet with out the onion mix. It is very good and so easy.

    I'm learning the joys of crock-pot cooking. Doesn't get much easier or quicker!
    This cranberry chix sounds delicious...the cranberries make me think about the coming holidays.
    (This BCB "turkey" just might be a whopping 20 lbs lighter this yr (maybe! maybe!!
    Getting back to the recipe at hand...is there a less salty dry onion soup mix available? I'm sensitive to salt but would still like to have the flavors the dry soups add.

    Hi Maddie,

    I got this from another site - no points were listed.

    Lipton's Onion Soup" Recipe

    3/4 c. dry minced onion
    1/3 c. beef bouillon powder
    4 tsp. onion powder
    1/4 tsp. crushed celery seed
    1/4 tsp. sugar
    Combine all ingredients
    Store in tight fitting container
    About 5 Tbls.. of mix are equal to 1 1.25 oz pkg.
    To make onion dip, mix 5 Tbls.. with one pint of sour cream.

    Have this in the crock pot now and it smells wonderful. . The family wants to know what it is, they guessed the onion soup, but I'm not telling the rest until after they taste it. They may not want to try it if I tell them it's cranberry sauce and salad dressing.

    This sounds really good, perfect for the fall, and so easy.
    I started putting this in the crockpot this morning then realized I was out of FF french! So I put in a bottle of FF honey mustard instead, hope it turns out good. Didnt feel like driving to the store.

    I made this last night w/ catalina dressing mmmmmm... Has anyone made it with french or 1000 Island? If so how did it taste?

    I've made it with catalina and 1000 island, and I prefer the 1000 island, although both are good!!

    I made it with Thousand Island dressing. My crew felt it was a bit too sweet. I would like to adjust it to try again... Maybe a different salad dressing would help.

    I am confused, does any one know the amount of points that this recipe has? I am going to make it with pork chops instead of chicken. Can any one help me?

    i mix this up in large quantities, divide it into dinner size portions, then freeze it. i think i still have 2 dinners worth in the freezer!

    This sounds wonderful! Dh doesn't like cranberry sauce but I will make it and not tell him what it is until after we eat. I am sure he will like it though, we are big on the Thousand Island dressing so I will try that...thanks for sharing!

    My family LOVES this recipe. I make it with the jellied cranberry and the FF Catalina, and the full pkt. of onion soup mix. It's really SO good.

    Made it with 8 boneless, well trimmed loin pork chops the other night, added some garlic powder, 2 tablespoons of SF Smuckers Orange Marmalade, and a little ground pepper. Oh man, it doesn't get much better than this!

    I finally made this tonight for dinner - How great is this dish!!! We loved it!!

    Finally made this recipe today in my crock pot...used the jellied cranberry sauce and ff catalina dressing with 1/2 pkg of onion soup mix...served it over bulgur with some of the sauce...yummmmmmmmmm...
    This is a definite keeper.
