Just wanted to let you know that I made the pizza last night using the tvp the way you made it in the recipe. It was great. LOL, my son (22)was in the kitchen and saw the bag lying on the counter. He wanted to know what it was, so I told him and later when he came home, he was eating the pizza and he said " does this have that stuff in it? I said no I made that for the taco soup I am making tomorrow ( ok I know I shouldn't lie, But I wanted to see if he could tell) LOL, he ate two big pieces and had no clue. He was just picking off the onions and mushrooms. He said it was different from pizza hut, but really good Today
I am making taco soup with the rest of the tvp I mixed up last night. It is cooking in the crock right now, and when I tasted it, I couldn't tell it wasn't ground beef.. Thanks for all the recipes
and the encouragement to try it. I bought the Bobs Red Mill brand. 0 fat.

YAY Jean! You go, girl!

It's not REALLY lying - I mean, it's HEALTHIER so it must be a "healthy fib" - right?!

Glad you're getting into it, TVP is such great stuff points-wise and tasty too!

Jean:

Could you please tell me how you prepared the TVP in the crock pot. I have the Bob's Red Mill brand too. I haven't used it yet. I've been a little hesitant.

Since you gave it such rave reviews...it will be on my menu soon.

Thanks!

Laura,
I didn't make the tvp in the crockpot.. I mixed it last night with boiling beef broth and spices
to put on the pizza. today I just mixed the rest of the reconstituted tvp with all the other ingredientents in my crockpot for taco soup. By the way the taco soup was really good
