Thread: Black Bean Soup-WOW

Thanks Dawna. This recipe was delicious! But thanks even more for the new web site, www.verybestmeals.com. It is wonderful. The recipes are great and they have the nutritional information so you can figure out points. The best feature is that for most recipes you can change the number of servings and it will divide or multiply the recipe automatically. Thanks a bunch!

Made this tonight. Yum! And so easy!

We added a dash of sherry and garnished it with ff sour cream and lime wedges, and DH put a few real bacon crumbles in his serving.
We'll definitely be making this one again!

Oh, and I also added a red (sweet) pepper with the onion and garlic.

I just ran this through Mastercook and it came out to 4 pts per cup. Am I doing something wrong??

I made this and had it for lunch today and it was really good. I agree with other buddies who said it was too salty, though. Next time I will use dried beans to cut down on the sodium. But it's a great, filling lunch.

Yum! A big thumbs up on this soup...had a cup with lunch and one with supper...and my rings are not too tight this morning! I drained off the beans and replaced with water...plus, used low-sodium chicken base...tasted it plain, and wasn't anything fantastic, but in the soup it was perfect! (Plus, 760 mg. sodium per regular cup of base is way too much for me and my high bp LOL!)

This is one of my favorite soups! In fact, I'm eating it right now for lunch. It's not a good thing to have while wearing a white blouse at work though. I just spilled down the front of my white blouse and had to try to wash it off. It's fabulous tasting, but not a very good fashion accessory!

Yummy...I made this a few weeks ago and it was fantastic...talk about warming ya up. I used Sam's black bean & corn salsa and I did not smash up any of the beans and it was really good that way. This is certainly a keeper. And E-Z!

Would somebody double check this. 2 points per cup seems low to me too. Thanks as always!
