Thread: ranch style beans

Can anyone give me an example of what ranch style beans are? I have a few recipies for Mexican casseroles and they say ranch style beans. I don't know if they mean kidney beans or pork & beans or what.

I believe they are usually pinto beans in a spicy sauce.

I am sorry I was going to look at the store last night and forgot. I beleive they are like was stated pinto in a spicy sauce. I think Hunts makes a similiar one called CHILI BEANS.

Ranch-Style Beans are pinto beans in a hot sauce and are actually labeled Ranch-Style Beans. They are put out by Ranch-Style Products (never heard of that company but that's what the can says). The can is brownish -- kinda like a Bush Baked Bean can. Look for it with canned kidney/gabonzo beans, baked beans and/or with ethnic foods.

The Ranch Style beans that I get at Walmart are black beans. I love using them in chili, taco soup and taco salad.
