Default SFT Monday WI Feb 21

    165.2 this morning.

Like Kimberly has experienced, I had a big loss week one, then up and down the rest of the month until the fourth weigh in showing a 3.2 loss for the month.
3 pounds a month is ok, if I keep that up til the summer I will be under goal.

I'm only down 0.2 lbs this week -

I got SO frustrated that for the first time ever, I joined WW. I've been doing WW on my own with the materials for a long time. and I am now registered on WW online! Whooo!
Although I find it odd they count frozen fruit??? If there's no sugar and it's just fruit, wouldn't it be 0?

    Frozen fruit is not free???

Haven't weighed in yet, but re-re-starting today.

Back to the "whole, healthy, not too carby, higher protein, drink herbal tea" plan.

michelle - it must be an e-tools error. Plain frozen fruit has to be free if fresh fruit is free.

Trying not to feel too discouraged today. A maintain/slight gain at the scale has me pretty much back to where I was after the first week. It's hard not to feel like that the past two weeks were "wasted". However, I know my pattern-- big loss PMS week, little loss TOM week, balance of loss/gain/maintain over the next two weeks to a net zero. I'm at 4lbs lost after the first three weeks. If my pattern holds, I should be down pretty much the same amount this week so I will just forget this WI ever happened and focus on next week's!

Michelle- Maybe it's the kind of frozen fruit that has sugar added that's not free? I've used frozen berries a few times and haven't counted it!

Soda- I'm definitely in the same boat here. At least we know our pattern!

Well here I am more frustrated than I was last week. I am up 3 pounds. I have nearly gained all back that I had lost and the only different thing i have done is switch to counting points from SFT and stopped exercising, but was not doing that much exercise anyway. So.........

Mickee - I'm right there with you.
What is your typical menu? do you use a lot of your WAPs? too little?
If I eat too many WAPs, I'll gain and I need to reduce carbs and salts, but my body still needs carbs.

Let us know what you're eating, maybe we can help you out.
Do you post your menus for every day? Are you tracking everything?

Yes, Mickee, what does your day look like (food wise, of course).

I have a hard time understanding how WW is pointing their food/recipes. Yesterday I printed off "Three 1 PointsPlus Value Vegetable Soups". There are Asian-Inspired, Italian-Inspired, and Mexican-Inspired variations. All have no count food. Truly, nothing in there to count, yet WW counts as 1 pt per serving. Hmm, let me see if I can post the link.

Easier than I thought to link that. Can you figure it out?

I used to post my menus but got frustrated and stopped. This is a typical day.

B - Yougert (greek or drinkable) and a piece of fruit usually with hot tea.

L - left overs from the night before, meat and veggie or a sandwich.

D- chicken, fish with veggie or whole wheat pasta.

I do get in 3 dairy and try to get the oil in but it is hard. I realize that is very generic, but it is very typical. I could print a day out of e-tools I guess.

    Morning 1 1/2 cup(s) cooked farina 4
    1 cup(s) 2% reduced fat milk 3
    Subtotal 7 Midday 1/2 cup(s) chicken salad 6
    3 tsp red onion(s) 0
    2 piece(s) lettuce 0
    2 slice(s) Bread Multigrain Sandwich Bread 5
    1 oz swiss cheese 3
    Subtotal 14 Evening 1 serving(s) Bear Mountain Bison - 4 oz 5
    1 serving(s) Flatout fold it flat bread - 5 grain Flax - 1 piece 3
    1 Spinach-Mushrooms with Feta 1
    Subtotal 9 Anytime 1 small banana(s) 0
    1 serving(s) Texas Daily Harvest Texas Cheddar Cheese - 2/3 oz 2
Subtotal 2 Food PointsPlus values total used 32

I wonder if you should try to eat more fruit/veggies? I see that you're makring that you're eating fruits and veggies, but in your etools menu I see a banana and a little bit of veggies, but maybe only really 1-2 servings. By the guidelines for WW we should be consuming at least 5 servings of fruits and veggies, so by cutting back on the carbs/meats this should help.
You don't seem to be eating a lot of WAPS, so you should be losing weight quite easily.

I agree. You look really light on fruit and vegetables.

Just checked WW for water chestnuts. 0 pts for 1/2 cups.

That is a very bad habit of mine. If I count point instead of doing SFT I tend to stop eating fruits and veggies for some very odd reason. I don't understand it I just do it. I will try to up the veggies and fruit.

Try to post your menus as well and we can give you some advice through the week to support you and ensure you'll have a loss next week.
Just make sure you write down everything as well!

I saw you were having intestinal issues as well in a previous post, the fruits/veg should help.
Also - are you drinking enough water?

those soups are all 0 points per serving. I think I read somewhere that WW does calculate points when there multiple servings of vegetables, but really, these are supposed to be one cup servings and if you had a cup of those vegetables cooked you would not count them.

mickee - try what Donna and michelle suggest. Focus on vegetables and lots of them : ) along with fruit and more fruit.

Thanks Michelle, Donna and Soda -

I will post menus daily. I do not get enough water, I dislike it and don't drink it unless I remind myself. That is one reason I drink lots of hot tea. veggies do not help my intestinal issues. Believe me. I have tried that and doesn't help. My earliest memory is my mom giving me prune juice and prunes to eat, with no result whatsoever. I am thinking of giving in and going to a GI doc. I have been told to do this for many years and just wouldn't do it.

Today so far all I have had is my drinkable yogurt which I have to guess at points on. Not enough NI to determine correctly and just had a handful of almonds. That is it. Oh and enough water to wash down my meds.

Mickee - if you don't mind me asking, what kind of GI issues are you having? I was diagnosed with IBS-C (for constipation) for years, most of my life and I was told the following after seeing the best specialist in my province. I was having SEVERE constipation and very very dry, lumpy stools - I wouldn't go for 4-5 days all the time.

    I was told the following:
Cut meats (not all, but not daily, it really blocks you up).
    Cut dairy
increase beans/lentils/whole grains - like bulgur, couscous, millet, brown rice.
and increase LOTS of fruits and veggies 8-10 servings a day and do NOT skimp out on oils. Nuts are my friend!

With these positive results, I ended up cutting up meat 100%, I know this isn't do-able for everyone, but it really helped to keep things moving.

Well, mine is mostly upper rather than lower. I have GERD and for whatever reason something will set it off. Then I hurt terribly in my shoulder blades and have general heart attack symptoms, but it is not a heart attack. It is just the fact that gastric juices backwashed and burnt the esophagus and I have referred pains. The lower issues are constipation of sorts. I say of sorts, because I really think the problem starts in the upper before getting lower. My stomach does not empty correctly. I can eat something and regurgitate it 2 days later, seriously. Doctor's don't believe that but it is true. I went for an upper GI and had to stay 3 times as long as I should have as they could not get the barium to go through me as they said my stomach was emptying very slowly. I think that is where some of my weight issues come from too. As I hold onto my food for so much longer than the average or normal person does. Now that I am taking the Phillips Colon health the constipation issues has resolved. I, like you, would only go about every 2-3 days and now twice a day like clock work. So for me the Phillips Colon health was the answer for that issue at least. But now I am thinking I really, really am going to have to break down and go to the GI doc as this GERD this time is really bad. I can just drink water and get pain. If I wasn't so sure of what it was I would be in the ER right now, but done that so many times it is a waste of time and money.

I cannot go without meat, just not in my makeup. I am Texan all the way through. A good meal is meat and potatoes. Ha! Ha! I don't care for beans or lentils at all, and most veggies are not that great. I do eat bananas daily and grapes and of course can't live without blueberries, but that is about all I do like. I know I have a horrid diet. But I feel like when I do SFT that it encourages me to eat better and things I would normally not choose to eat. But at the same time I can't have my farm fresh dairy on SFT as it uses up too many WPA on a daily basis too. So I am in a vicious cycle of what to do, what to eat, etc.
Never give up or look back,

Mickee - believe it or not, I have in the past vomitted food I ate 2-4 days prior.
You might have gastroparesis, and one of the main causes to my heartburn and digestive issues were meat, and fatty foods/dairy.
Why don't you try to go meatless for a week and see if your symptoms will stop?

I was also an avid meat eater, but for health reasons - I stopped, learned to love how I was feeling without the pain/medication. It might be the cost of living the way you want. And when you have gastroparesis, you do lose weight slower sometimes, because your digestion is so slow.

You can get that book on half.com for 8.81 for the cheapest one and then goes up to about 13.00. I will look into it.

Michelle - Just don't think I could go without meat and I know I could not go without dairy. I may give it some thought, but just don't think I could be that restrictive. This is the first bad spell I have had in ages and think eating lasagna and grapefruit set me off. I cannot eat any citrus without problems and tomatoes set me off big time, thankfully I do not like them, but do like sauce on my spaghetti on occasion.

Mickee - I'm on a restrictive diet, no citrus, no tomato based products, no coffee or high fat dairy, no fish, no fatty foods (deep fried products).
It's restrictive, I know. And it's hard, but I guess my question is would you like to feel better? I don't want to nag, but when an answer could be so near, to commit for a week is very little time to know if it can help.
