Thread: Low point ice cream made in an ice cream maker?

Default Low point ice cream made in an ice cream maker?

Does anyone have a recipe for making a low point ice cream in one of those ice cream makers-the kind you add ice and rock salt around while it turns slowly?

I go to a bunch of cookouts and they always have that ice cream but could not be points friendly.

I am thinking I could use Splenda and lowfat milk but I am not sure that would make good ice cream.

The best way to do this may be to look up sorbet recipes - no added fat necessary. Getting ice cream texture without either cream or chemicals (as in low-fat ice cream sold in stores) will be difficult.
