Thread: Core-n-Bread

    Default Core-n-Bread

    Hi SFers.
I have recently switched over to SF and am planning out my menu for the week. I remember in a previous stint on CORE I made some cornbread muffins (main ingredient cornmeal) and also had a recipe for Core-n-Bread. I have tried searching the SF recipe thread but the search isn't working for me.

Does anyone have these recipes handy?

    Thanks!

Separately, does anyone have a hummus recipe that doesn't include Tahini?

    Thumbs up Re: Core-n-Bread

I "google" the name of the recipe and either the forum (healthdiscovery.net or boot camp buddies), or anything else that might make google pull it up...

Lately, even THAT hasn't been working as well.

But I'll try the Core-n-bread with google...

(I finally found it under "Core cornbread"...) I pulled it up for you on Simply Filling recipes.

    Try the same with hummus.

Here's one I found posted by WW Lynn on the SiFi recipe section below:

    Great Core-n Bread

    1 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup Cream of Wheat, uncooked
    1 cup ff sour cream
    1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
    1 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/3 cup splenda
    2 tsp olive oil
    2 eggs
    1/2 cup ff milk.

The cornbread bakes at 400 for 35 minutes. (WWCarol: I'm assuming it goes in a "sprayed" 8 X 8" pan.)

P.S. I have never found a Core cornbread recipe that I have liked (yet)! I'd rather eat polenta any-old-day! :bcbsalute [Edit: NOW I have! This is great stuff!]

Hmmm, I THINK maybe it was WWCarol, not that it matters, but I have never made this recipe, and I didn't write that PS either...just sayin'. Glad you found it!

    Lightbulb Re: Core-n-Bread

I posted it from a WW Core board...and that's the author's P.S. and "edit", not mine.
