Thread: 1 pt. sweet treats

  1. Default 1 pt. sweet treats

I love 1pt. treats! I'd love to hear some from BCBs! Here are my two faves:

    Angel Food Cookies

1 box angel food cake mix (the 1,2,3 kind)
    3/4 C unsweetened applesauce
1- 6 oz. bag semi sweet chocolate chips or mini m&ms
    2oz pecans chopped coarsely

Mix applesauce and cake mix until soft peaks form. Fold in nuts and chips. Drop onto sprayed or parchment-lined cookie sheets. Bake @ 300F 15-20 mins. until lightly browned. Make at least 36 for 1pt value...I usually get about 40!
    * I leave the nuts out because I don't like them...but to each his/her own!

    Chcolate chip banana muffins
    makes 36

1 box angel food cake mix (the 1,2,3 kind)
    3 bananas, mashed
3/4 C water (use 1C water if bananas were frozen)
    1/2 C mini chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350F. Mix in 1/2 C water and cake mix. Add mashed bananas to the mix. Stir in chocolate chips. Add remaining water. Batter will be frothy. Spoon into muffin pans. bake until brown on top, approx. 12-14 mins.

I've heard that you can mix 1 angel food cake mix and a can of cherry pie filling for 1 pt. muffins, too. Anyone tried this?

This isn't a recipe - but I do love tootsie pops and candy canes. Those are my favorite 1 point treats because they last so long!

Quick cooking oats, I use the big round box. And the dry german chocolate cake mix means just the dry mix straight from the box, I just dip the Tablespoon into the mix to measure it. I hope you like it I just finished mine. I added a little SF chocolate drizzle to it tonight. I got some dark chocolate cake mix today and am going to try it out.

I just have to say that I love the oatmeal and german chocolate cake mix dessert. I eat it everyday for a treat and it really helps me. I find the afternoon after lunch I always want something sweet so I take a plastic sandwich bag and measure the oatmeal, cake mix and put mini chips in it and use a coffee cup heat it up and there I go. Its a lifesaver and it's really good too. I still haven't mastered how much water though sometimes I put to much water in.
