    I know about making a cake with a can of pure pumpkin but do you need to add an egg to make it hold?

    I also know there is a way to make it with diet soda but I don't know how much soda and if that is just for cupcakes or can you do it for cakes also??

    There is a huge discussion on Diet Coke cake. Here's the link to it:

    Basically, you add a 12-oz can of diet soda to the cake mix. Some use 3 egg whites because they think it holds together better. I live at a high altitude and the egg whites tended to make it very dry.

    I often add pumpkin to the cake mix along with about a cup or 12 ounces of the diet soda.

    I'm quite amazed at how easy it is to work with.
