Default Pinwheels - less than 1 pt.

This is one I adapted from another recipe I found on this site. You really don't need to use a full 8-oz. of the cream cheese mixture, but I like it fairly thick.

8 oz fat-free cream cheese, at room temp (5 pts)

    2 T chopped chives
    1 garlic clove, minced

2 T finely chopped red bell pepper (optional)
    1 Joseph’s-brand lavash (2pts)

6 slices smoked turkey slices (2pt) (I used Wilson brand)

    Lettuce leaves

In a bowl, combine the cream cheese, chives, garlic, and red peppers. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on the entire surface of the lavash. Place the turkey on the lavash (covering about ¾ of it, width-wise). Place the lettuce leaves on top of the turkey and roll, from the turkey-end, as tightly as possible. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight. When ready to serve, remove the plastic wrap and cut into 12 slices.

Makes 12 pinwheels, less than 1 pt each or 4 for 3 pts

NOTE: All sorts of variations are possible – use lean ham instead of turkey, add onion powder to the cream cheese mixture or replace the listed seasonings and add basil or tarragon or anything else you might like.

First of all, I had to Google to figure out what lavash is.

"Lavash is thin, soft flatbread that is served with dips and used for wraps. "

Thanks for posting. Looks easy and it's nice to be able to prepare in advance. You could probably use a tortilla as well if you couldn't find the lavash.

you can get the lavash bread at Super Wal Mart- right next to the deli. It's really good.
