As you all know, I returned to the Simply Filling program 3 weeks ago. My weight loss had stalled and the scale was actually creeping upward instead of down. I decided then it was time to shake things up a bit. I started by cleaning out my cabinets and fridge of all the processed, low-points crap I had brought. Now don't get me wrong....I like low-points options just as much as the next person. I am talking about all the 100 calorie packs, the ice cream bars, and other assorted processed food that is 1-2 points per serving and only fills you up for about 10 minutes.

Then I made a grocery list. Apples, grapes, bananas, carrots, salad mix, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, eggs, ff cheese, skim milk, high fiber cereal, brown rice, bulgur, couscous, asparagus, broccoli, chicken breasts, tuna, get the idea. Foods off the Simply-filling list. I spent most of that day shopping and preparing food for the next week. I was really kinda scared to do that - prepare food for most of the week. I figured I would be eating nonstop being around all that food. But surprisingly, I did not. I was so busy, I didn't even think about eating until my stomach reminded me that it was around.

The end of the first week came and I lost 2#. The end of the second week came and I lost 2#. Today was the end of the third week and I lost 1.6#. I am in shock. I am in awe. I am pumped. I just can't believe it. The only week I lost 2# counting points was the very first one.

The loss is not the only victory though - it is not even the most important one to me. I now crave real foods...fruit, veggies, whole grains. I would much rather have a banana than a candy bar or a 100 calorie pack of my once favorite cookies. I buy and try new vegetables that I never would have before - I have two acorn squash sitting on my counter that will be cooked for tomorrow nights dinner.

I listen to my body and what it is trying to tell me. I am starting to really figure it out again. It is starting to become my best friend again. It is giving back ten-fold what I am giving it.

    YAY!!! WTG!!! I am glad you had an eye opening experience! Don't forget to thank yourself for being patient, and understanding with yourself. Keep it up!

    That's phenomenal! Great effort. Your body wants real food...with nutrients. It's all life and health-sustaining.
