today went ok...tomorrow will be perfect!

So, today was ok. I didn't work out, which I wish I would have. I really don't have an excuse...I just wasn't feeling it. But tomorrow I plan on doing extra to make up for it. I haven't really figured out how many times a week my goal is for working out. I'm just trying to go as much as possible.

So, my eating was ok, but I went 8 points over and will have to take those off my extra points for the week. I had a mishap at Red Lobster because I wasn't sure how many points were in the dish I got. I tried to prepare before we left since I knew we were going out, and I looked up the nutritional info and tried to pick out what I was going to get. I didn't have enough time to look through it, so I tried to pick the most healthy looking thing I could on the menu which was grilled chicken, rice pilaf, broccoli, and a small side salad with vinigarette dressing. Turns out, the chicken I chose had a glaze on it that bumped it up to 10 points alone So, I'm still learning, but I wish I would have known the fish had so many less points. I would have rather had fish anyway! I also ended up eating a roll, and that had 4 points (I think it was worth taking off 4 of my flex points though...mmm so good). Normally I would eat 3 or 4 of the rolls though, so I feel like I can see how my eating is changing. Also, I would have never ordered rice pilaf and broccoli. I would have gotten a double order of fries. So, I think I am on the right track but need to keep curbing my temptations.

Breakfast- Slimfast-5
Lunch- Red Lobster (glazed grilled chicken, rice pilaf, broccoli, side salad, roll)- 18
Dinner- left over spaghetti made with whole wheat pasta, ground turkey, zucchini, onions, and green bell peppers)- 6
Snack- WW chocolate muffin, spoonful of mint chocolate chip icecream- about 4 (should have resisted the mint chocolate chip icecream. The muffin was enough of a snack)

So, if it wasn't for the red lobster, I would have been all good today on points. I will just take those 8 points off my extra points for the week, and I will be POP tomorrow!! I promise! I will report in tomorrow with my extra exercise and food!

I hope everyone else is doing well!

Yeahhh Kat! That's more like it! Even though you didn't estimate correctly, you are making choices that are really showing your determination to be OP. That is AWESOME! Especially after your discouragement in your last few blogs. I'm proud of you! Stopping at one roll is awesome... of course you can have it if you've got the points! That's what the WPA's are for--delicious RL rolls.... hehehe. I think that whole meal sounded like a good choice. I'd be thinking the same thing. Anyway, it's all a learning curve, and I'm excited that you gave yourself slack for that. Good job! Keep it up!!

Thanks so much for the encouragement! I really needed that right now, because I am about to face a huge temptation of mine. It's a friend of mine's birthday, and we are going to a mexican restaurant and then going out afterward for drinks. So, I am looking through the restaurant menu right now trying to figure out what I am going to order. I'm also unsure about the drinking thing. I am more of a beer person, but I imagine that has more calories than liquor or wine. So, I'm going to check it out and make sure I stay within my points. The restaurant doesn't have a nutritional facts menu, so I'm hoping I can figure this out. I also ate a very light lunch and had a light snack to save up my points for dinner.

Also, I just got back from the gym! I went extra hard on the treadmill, and pushed myself past my comfort level (within a reasonable amount of course). I was sweating bullets and it felt GREAT! I was NOT in the mood to do it today (it's just about that time of the month for me), but I forced myself and was super proud afterwards.

Thanks so much for your encouraging words again Parallel! That's just what I needed when I started looking through all the delicious Mexican food on this menu. None of that food is worth being unhappy with myself!

Wow, way to get to the gym!! That ROCKS! How did the mexican restaurant go? I always have trouble when I can't get exact nutritional info. I hate having to estimate!! You seem to really have a great attitude now. I LOVE IT!

Thanks! Actually, the Mexican restaurant went ok. I planned on getting a vegetarian chimichanga because it's the only thing that looked even close to healthy, but ended up going with the chicken taco salad. My PLAN was to not eat any of the shell and no sour cream and just a little cheese, but I ended up eating some of the shell and about half the sour cream they gave me and allllmost all the cheese soooo, I couldn't really estimate the points, but I imagine it was a lot. So, to make up for that, I decided I would make that my splurge for the week and not use any more of my extra weekly points (are those called flex points? i can't remember...) I also had a few beers. So, it was difficult, I could have done better but I could have done worse. I didn't deprive myself, but I didn't go overboard. I ate a ton less than I normally would. I just wish the points for that kind of stuff was easier to figure out. Thanks again for the encouragement!
