hello again!
it's almost the weekend! yay! i am happy to announce that i ordered the TransFIRMer last night! i'm so super excited and can't wait for it to come! i'm so impatient. i want it now. also - i hate horse pills. and every multi-vitamin i have tried is basically that. and they are gross and leave a nasty after taste. but, someone seggested gummie multi-vitamins for adults. (i had no idea these existed!) so, i went and got some yesterday. the brand i found was "one a day" but i'm sure there are more. anyway, i'm back to taking a multi-vitamin, daily! i hope you all are having a good day/week. op and moving. check in soon!

Hi all, I haven't been posting here too much. But, since I introduced myself awhile back, I thought I'd let you know, I made it back to Onederland. I took me forever. It seems I was on a bit of a plateau. I made it through!

Hello ladies:
Kristi: congrats on getting to Onederland, we're right behind you so don't look back! Kristen: I hope your transFIRMer comes soon, is it a DVD? I hope BL is still on my DVR, I haven't checked it in days. Sheila: wow, what a great loss, you're doing fantastic! DJ: great job of prepping your meals, that's half the battle. Kipper: keep up the walking, I hope you had a nice dinner with your Dad. I've been doing ok...within my points but I could do with some more veggies and fruit....last night I walked 2+ miles with a hill included...ugh It was great having yesterday off, I got some shelves/cabinets organized of food, laundry done and some cooking....but I didn't get to bed till midnight...boy was I tired today. Everyone have a great OP day......I can't wait to watch BL now, I hope it's still there and no one deleted it!! M

Well, I'm sitting here waiting for the garage repair folks to show up so my workout plans have been put on hold for a while
Ate a fairly high point lunch so I'm planning to balance it with a spinach salad with grilled chicken and some fresh raspberries with non-fat yogurt for dessert. So long as I'm following the GHG's, I think I'll be alright.Yesterday, I did Michelle Dozois' Rockin' Body Cardio Jam. This is a 50 minute floor aerobics DVD and I burned 390 calories I'm planning to do the strength portion of her Ultimate Workout DVD once these garage door folks leave.Kipper - I'm planning a salad meal tonight. I figure as long as we balance our higher point meals with lower point ones we will still make good progress. Sheila - Congrats on an awesome loss this week. I completely agree that Allison's Cardio Dance Fusion workout is great. I sweat like a fox's ass in a pepper patch but have tons of fun doing it ![]() Kristen - Enjoy the FIRM but remember, start SLOW! Follow the beginner modifications a few times before adding dumbbells and adjust the TransFIRMer height to meet your needs. Maureen - I think doing errands and household chores count for some activity. I too sometimes have problems with fruits and veggies so I'm finding I sometimes need to "sneak" them into my main courses in order to make sure I get what I need.

Evening Ladies,
Kristen You are going to see nice results from the FIRM. They say you get visable results in 10 workouts but it didn't take me that many. I have the Transfirmer but don't use it as much since I'm so hooked on the TransFIRMation series. I may dust of my Transfirmer step next week. Kristi Congratulations on making it to onederland. I'm chasing you so save a spot for me. Maureen Enjoy the BL. Hopefully it didn't get deleted. I had another good day and I got in a nice walk today. I'm just hoping I can stay in this mode until I reach my goal. Have a great evening ladies.

Hi Kristen,
Yep I'm having a great weekend. Yesterday I walked for 6 miles with lots of up and down hill. I just finished doing the FIRMs Calorie Killer. What a nice workout that was. I hadn't done that one in a long time and it was fun. The TransFIRMation system is the one with the purple case & pink weights and I've seen it at Walmart and Target. I also saw the Wave there. I don't have that one yet. I hope you have a great W/I this week! How's everyone else doing?

Kristi, well done on making it to Onederland!!!! ![]() Sheila, 6 miles up and down hills sounds like great exercise ![]() ![]() Kristen, hope your WI was good news for you? hey there, ladies. it's monday. again! the weekends just fly by! they never seem long enough. i'm super sleepy today, but will still be hitting up zumba class tonight. i took 3 days off of exercising for reasons of being super busy. i need to get back into it now! before i lose the groove.
thanks for asking, ladies! weigh in was super! i lost 3.8 this week! bringing my weight to: 193.6! i was SO shocked. i know it was mostly because of my TOM last weigh in and now off, but i will take it and run! ![]() sheila: before i read yoru response about the transFIRMation system - i bought that. i was at target and noticed it. there was only one, so i swooped it up. i'm haven't tried it yet, but can't wait! i also can't wait to get the one i ordered with the steps. i'll let you know how the first work out is! 6 miles up and down and a dvd. you are doing great! can't wait to hear of your loss this week. kipper: oh no! i'm sorry to hear about the sewer problems! how crappy is it that someone does that and then is gone when it is time to pay up for it. at least the blockage will be fixed. ugh. p.s. what is a jacket potato? ![]() maureen: how was yoour weigh in yesterday?? i hope you are hanging in there and doing well! dj: i hope you are hanging in there and doing well! talk soon, ladies. *op to all!*

Hello ladies;
Wow Kristen 3.8 is fantastic!!!!! Way to go ![]() I overslept and missed weigh in but on my home scale I stayed the same...I did kind of bad this weekend. I made my niece Choc Chip cookies to mail to her in NJ because she had surgery and I ate a few of them ![]() I stopped and got paint Friday night on my way home and DH painted the living room, hallway, sunroom, kitchen and stairway I helped vacuum, move furniture, polish stuff, wash curtains, re-hung pictures, etc. I still have a lot of windows and tidying to do AND I have to help my mom. She just got company from out of state and hasn't been feeling good, she went to the doctors today and she has the shingles. I spend Saturday on my hands and knees in her kitchen scrubbing it with an SOS pad and did her oven, paneling and baseboards....uck.I still have a lot to do at my own house and now they're all coming over for dinner tomorrow night so I'll be a busy bee tonight with errands, grocery shopping, cooking, washing windows, etc.....I think I might leave a little early. Have a great OP day! Mo

Kristen, 3.8???? WOW!
![]() I guess jacket potato must be a UK term - maybe you call it baked potato - not sure. Scrub the skin, cook the potato in the oven or the microwave, cut it open and fill/top with whatever you fancy, often tuna mayo, cheese, beans or coleslaw. Maureen, sorry about your mum - from what I've heard shingles is seriously not nice Hope she recovers quickly.

Sorry I haven't been around. It's just been one thing after another and I still haven't quite recovered. I missed my weigh-in today as well.
![]() After the car and garage episodes (garage door is now fixed), my mom called after last week's weigh-in to tell me that her boyfriend of 16 years died and she was the person to first find the body I've been trying to console her and help her getting ready to deal with his crazy family. We went shopping for something for her to ear at the funeral last Thursday and that's when I noticed my car shaking like crazy. I took it back to the shop only to discover something totally different wrong with it. One of the fuel injectors was shot and I had to fork over another $170. To add insult to injury, I made payment arrangements for a small student loan I had in college to be deducted in December; the billing server processed it last week taking my last bit of money for the month along with a $20 overdraft fee I actually had to cancel my WW Monthly Pass membership temporarily until I could put money back into my account to cover the charge. I have a few more weeks before my monthly pass expires so I could have weighed in today but I was feeling so shell-shocked from all of the chaos that I chose to stay home. Now I'm kicking myself because despite all that's been going on, I haven't eating too badly (mind you, I haven't tracked since Thursday) and I've been keeping up with my exercise. My husband suggested I use the paper journals I get from WW as a stop-gap until the end of the month when I can restore my membership and not give up totally because of this mishap (I did get the student loan processor to admit fault and they are working on reimbursing me for overdraft charges and so forth). I know I can't give up because I'm so close to ONEderland (which would be for the first time since 2004). I think I just got overwhelmed with everything that's happened THIS month alone, that I started wallowing in self-pity. Well, stuff happens and tomorrow I have a clean slate (points wise) so the time for crying is over. Sorry for the novel. I just wanted you all to know what's been keeping me from posting on a regular basis.

Sheila and Kristen - way to go, being biggest losers for your teams
![]() DJ - you really sound like life's been throwing everything at you Afraid a pity party and giving up won't help though - you'll just add guilty feelings on top of everything else. Hope things take a definite turn for the better for you.How awful for your mum! Hope the funeral arrangements go smoothly, crazy family or not. |

hello, ladies! hump day! woot! ready for the weekend! i feel like i always say that, but i truly look forward to the weekends. ha!
FIRST - how is everyone feeling about thanksgiving? i'm already starting to worry about it. it usually is a day of binging and feeling guilty. i don't want that again this year. and of course i'm planning not to do it, but i never really planned in the past either. i know it is one day. but for years it has been the day i look forward to for weeks...because of food! ugh! SECOND - did you ladies watch Biggest Loser last night!? i cried. again. db always looks at me and says "you're crying again?" lol! i can't help it. anyway, i hate for talking about it if you haven't seen it. so, sorry in advance if you missed and i give it all away. i love tim gunn! and everyone looked good. i was really suprised rebecca went home. however, i knew she would look great. and man, she does! she looked fantastic! especially on Leno (where she has lost like 20 more lbs.) and revealed she and daniel are an item. how cute! sheila: how was your weigh in?? hopefully good! i received the the transFIRMer today! tonight will be my first go! i'm excited and nervous - all together. i'm ready to shed inches, like you have been! dj: you poor thing! i feel so sorry for you and wish there was something i could do to help. i know how sucky things can be when anything and everything can go wrong. try to stay positive. things will turn around. you can do WW without online or meetings. just try to stay as focused as much as you can. write everything on stickies, paper or just type it up on the computer and put check marks for all the healthy guidelines. once you can get the monthly pass back, go for it. we know you can do it. kipper: closer to op? getting your steps in? maureen: how are you doing? hopefully op! super long! i will stop now! have a good evening!

Hello Buddies,
DJ (((((HUGS))))) Sorry you're having to deal with so much all at once. Hang in there and stay strong and don't give in to pity or eating. Kipper I hope you're having a good day! Kristen My W/I was decent this week. I was down 1.4 so I'm now at 207.6 and getting closer & closer to onederland. It looks like I may make it to onederland by 12/31/09. I'm hoping to make it before I leave for the cruise though. That would be added motivation for me to stay on track. I watched the BL last night and as always, I was motivated. I was intending to watch Rebecca on Jay Leno but I fell asleep and the TV ended up watching me. LOL Today at my WW meeting the leader did a Thanksgiving dress rehersal and encouraged us to fill up 1/2 the plate with veggies and the other half with a meat & starch. If you want a dessert, only have one pc of one dessert and be done. Do not sample all the desserts. She brought out that 1/8 of a piece of home made apple pie is 10 pts and a pc of pecan pie is 12 pts. You might want to check the pts value of anything prior to eating it to see if it's worth it. She also suggested earning extra APs for the day. Also be sure to log on and post a few times. YOU CAN DO IT!!! I hope you enjoy your FIRM workouts and hopefully, you'll see good results. I can't believe how fast I'm losing inches. Today I fit a pair Tommy Hilfiger & Seven jeans that I couldn't even zip up 2 weeks ago. How is everyone else doing? Hopefully, good.

Kristen, are you producing the food for thanksgiving? If so can you make adapted versions of the foods with lower points values? If not, plan your strategy in advance of the meal. As ever - a lot easier to dole out advice than follow it yourself
![]() Sheila, those jeans sound great! Well done. DJ, hope you are hanging in there ok. Maureen, how'd the big gathering go? Yesterday was definitely not OP - made some bad food choices. I think I'm not eating enough protein so I'm getting cravings - need to work on that. On the plus side I did walk over 8100 steps, some fairly quickly so I got quite out of breath. hello ladies! one more day until friday! and good tv tonight! yay!
i did my first FIRM workout last night. i did he super charged sculpting. it was first on the calendar. i lasted the whole 39 minutes. however, i did have to stop a few times on the stepping up on the high steps and down. i was a bit wobbly. when you first started (sheila and dj) did you use the full 14 inches or a smaller one to start? i'm 5 ft. 1 in. so it seemed a little challenging. i did sweat some, not a lot. i used no weights and i'm not really sore today. i can feel it a bit in my inner thighs though. also - i think i have no stomach/ab muscles whatsoever. the crunches, sadly... i feel like i can't get myself off the ground. it seems like just my shoulders. and the reverse where you lift your butt. i can't really lift that either. will that come easier or do you have some tips? i just want to do it to my best, you know? anyway, 1 firm down! also, i need help! my friend wants to go to Abuelos for her birthday tomorrow for dinner. there is no nutritional information listed anywhere and i called there to ask, and they have none. it's kind of like don pablos. here is their site: http://www.abuelos.com/NewMenu_Home.asp can you please give me some pointers on what would be best? i was thining the child's soft taco w/ no cheese and refried beans and see if they had any veggies they could steam. any help will be appreciated! big time! sheila: down another 1.4! talk about cruising along! you you be in onderland in no time. keep it up! we are so proud! you can see a clip of rebecca on leno here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAIf7VvWMmY thank you for the thankgiving advice. i just tend to get really nervous because i don't want to blow the hard work. i'll keep you posted on how i did! kipper: sadly, i'm not making anything. but i was thinking of taking a side dish - like brussel sprouts that i know i can have and i know the points. sorry to hear it wasn't an op day. but, it was yesterday and you can move on, with better decisions. at least you have the walking down! keep that up! dj: i hope you are doing ok. *hugs* maureen: hope you are still hanging in there! i hope everyone has an OP day! work it!

Hello ladies:
DJ, sorry to hear about all your troubles, I hope things are looking up. Sheila: I LOVE SEVEN jeans, I have my favorite pair on now (even though I'm only supposed to wear them to work on Fridays )Kristen: I haven't watched BL yet, I hope I have it taped, way to go on the Zumba and Firm, I really should pull my FIRM steps out of the closet but they're about 10' back and it would be a workout just to find them! I eat what I want on Thanksgiving, I'm giving myself till 2010 but by then I want to be in Onederland forever and not teetering on the edge. I've been walking at work but at night we've been working on the house and I had my cousin from CA visiting so we had dinner at my house Tuesday for 10 and went to my mom's last night for pizza calorie count has not been good this week ![]() Kipper great job on the walking, you've really kicked it up a notch! DH calls them jacket potatoes too, I was amazed when I first met him he'd pick one up steaming hot and squeeze the "jacket" off so fast, he said you had to be quick at his house to get your food when his mother used to dump a pot of them into the center of the table...survival of the quickest! When I made brussel sprouts last year I sauteed them in olive oil and pancetta ![]() Our elderly neighbors asked us last week to come to dinner tonight and I don't have any idea what they're making and I can't back out because we live right next door!! I really wanted to start up my walking again tonight, I've missed so many nights, we're going at 6, can I leave at 8? I've been trying to organize a get together with some WW ladies that live in my state, it's been hard trying to organize it but I think we're meeting Sunday unless it all falls through today?? Have a great OP day! M

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the well wishes and encouragement. Things seem to be settling down but my finances will need time to recover from the latest series of fiascoes with the car and student loan drama. Yesterday was my 12 hour teaching day so I couldn't post. Before work, I got on the scale at home because I needed to enter a number into my tracker and I'm not sure when I'll be able to resume meetings. I couldn't believe it. The scale said I was down 2 pounds which, if true, means I've hit my 5% target. I did do FIRM Super Body Sculpt in the AM before workout and by the time I got home, I was feeling a bit stiff esp. in my knees, legs and butt. So today, I took a rest day. I did some of my Thanksgiving shopping today. I actually used the WW Online Recipe Builder to get a sense of how much our meal is going to cost me so I could modify recipes if need be. 30 points was the figure I got with modifications to ingredients (not portions). Normally, I make 2 meats, 4 sides, 2 desserts, 2 vegetables and appetizers. I told DH that we're starting a new tradition for the holidays - One meat, 2 sides, 2 vegetables and one dessert. If I modify and cut the portion of sides in half, I can save about 10 points for a total of 20 points including dessert. Kipper - Tomorrow is a new day so one bad day of eating isn't a permanent state of being. At least you are getting in your steps. Sheila - Nice job on the 1.4lbs. I too have lost lots of inches with the FIRM (and running). I definitely had a workout planned for Thanksgiving because I tend to want to unbutton my pants and fall asleep after a big meal. I actually joined a 4 week mini-challenge with some friends which starts this Monday and goes through December 20th. It's our attempt at reeling in the carb-induced feeding frenzy. Kristen - Start with the 8" portion of the Transfirmer until you master the form. I'm 5'6" and while the 14" isn't a problem for my height, I have to be careful with the leg press move since I also run (and my knee is wonky). Great job on starting the workouts. You probably won't sweat much until you start adding weights and since you did a primarily strength workout today, you definitely won't sweat as much as doing the cardio or circuit workout. Maureen - At least you are staying active despite not eating exactly as you should. That brussel sprouts with pancetta dish sounds delish! Laters, DJ
