Faced the scale this morning, down 0.5 lbs, I track my calories - and basically I ate ALL my WAPs and APs for the first time since I started WW.

Still, I don't think that over eating was really part of my plan when I started this. So tomorrow is my restart day, and I will be accountable and get out my pen and jounral again.

Last day for these games to take control of my emotions/life.
...stupid games, I can't wait for them to be delivered and done with.

Kristin – thanks for the tip about gobstoppers. That’s interesting and helpful.

Also, your thought process for avoiding a binge is a good one. But sometimes even that doesn’t work. I have been able to talk myself out of a binge by considering how badly I’ve felt after past binges. But for me the urges sometimes just take over until I feel incapable of stopping them.

Thanks to WW and BCB and some serious work I’ve done really well to slow the instances of binges but I just don’t know if I’ll ever get over this disorder. But the more tips and tricks I have to use against them the better!

Christyn – your interpretation/explanation of binging is exactly how I define it as well. There are plenty of times when I stick within my points and yet still binge. It’s unnecessary eating to fill some kind of void. It’s something that I always struggle with but am learning to adapt and adjust to. Thanks for your input. Any advice?

Bianca – I’d second Christyn’s advice about being active to avoid the binge voice. Of course, I’m no expert in avoiding them since I still struggle. But on the nights/days that I successfully talk myself out of the desire to binge, I always do so by getting myself busy with something else – painting my nails, reading a book away from the kitchen, working out, etc.

I love the idea of a shocking “wake-up” word…What did you come up with?

Karen - Thanks for the advice. I think the word I'm going to use is supercalifragilisticexpialadocious. LOL.

Michelle - Until now, you've NEVER used all of your WAPs and APs? I always have. It just seems to work for me. Well, 90% of the time it does. I'm glad your work stress is almost over!

Christyn - That's so funny that we thought of the same word. I seriously think that's what I'm going to use!

Well, no binges for me last night so I'm on day 4 of being BF!

Karen -I can so relate to you on feeling like food is filling some type of void. Sometimes it just feels like you are not so much physically hungry just feel an urge to eat. I think we should both have a chat w/our hubbies and maybe if they are around when the urge to binge rears it's ugly head, getting some support would be helpful.........I have noticed that the last few times I felt like binging was after speaking to MIL and just feeling so frustrated, and I guess you feel like food is one thing that you have control over.........hmmmm , I have been able to curb my binges to some minor snacking, but still it's mindless eating and it has to stop

Bianca - NEVER used ALL of them. I'd usually eat like... maybe 10-15 WAPs a week, and I usually get like 15 APs a week. So maybe I should be eating them all, maybe that's why I've been so hungry?

Michelle - If you have the points then there is no reason to be HUNGRY! If your body feels deprived then you are more susceptible to binges or even just going off plan. Flex points are there for the times when you are hungrier because your body is going to be hungrier some times than others. Thsi could be for sooo many reasons. For instance it's flu season, your body is working harder to fight off germs, which means it might need more fuel. And when you are earning APs your body needs the extra energy to properly fuel your body.

Don't think of Flex and APs as points to use for special occasions or an extra dessert (I'm still learning this myself), think of them as tools to keep your body healthy and satisfied. Your body is smart it will help you through this process sometimes we just need to learn how to listen to it.

I hear you Christyn,
I think I went too long eating no WAPs at all, I had weeks where I wouldn't eat WAPs or APs at all. Although it led me to success with WW, I find I am hungrier, and if I still lost eating all my WAPs and APs, maybe it's time I eat? To feed my body if it's hungry.

I also was without a period for a loooonngg time because of medication, and the past two weeks, it's been time of the month... so perhaps the cravings are just all part of the hormones?!

Who knows! Bodies are strange things aren't they? ha ha

It's worth a shot to eat the points, if you don't lose, you can always adjust as necessary. The thing that I remember all of the vets who were at goal saying was that the more points you eat while losing the more points you will be able to eat while maintaining.

Yes, bodies are crazy...and maybe the fact that you are getting your period now is your body changing which would make your food needs change too....
