I WI on Saturday and always look forward to finding out what the topic will be. I have a great WW leader but the group (some 30-40 people) tend to be unresponsive. If I can get a heads up, I can then help her keep the conversation going.

It's an 8AM meeting and I think some of the people are still asleep. :)

Well we did anchoring 2 weeks ago but haven't done Carianne's. I think WW sends out themes to cover to all of their affiliates.each month. My center has about 20 meetings per week and they cover the same theme in all of them each week. The only difference is really the personality of the leader and the twist they put on that theme.

My leader is great....there was a bunch of us who needed a kick in the pants, so she tried to give us a boost.

She did a Wizard of Oz theme, and talked about the resources we need on WW - a brain to make good choices, a heart (I forget the meaning of that one) and the courage to stick with it. We said, "There's no place like goal..." We also talked about things that could sidetrack us, like flying monkeys and witches... ;)

I really like my leader too. We talked about portion control. I was so surprised to see what one serving of icecream was. It was just a tease really. One little scoop was 2 1/2 points (I'm in the UK so it might be a little different for me than in the states). Normally I'd have about 4 scoops so I was eating half my points allowance for an entire day in just one evening for a snack. WOW!

We talked about support from outside as well as from the group as a whole. Getting over obstacles and finding out why they were there to begin with.

I went yesterday at noon..our was the Wizard of Oz theme too..

It was "We are not in Kansas anymore Toto" but we talked about being Lifetime members. Ummmm..this is a very new group. It has only been meeting for a couple of weeks and it will be a LONG time before anyone hits lifetime..me included. Out of the 6-8 of us...... 4 were newbies..and this was their first time.... Thinking she a little off base and shoudl of focused more on the program.

My leader also talked about making lifetime..there's a fairly large group of us and several are lifetime members. I think the connection my leader made was that when we are plateuing (sp) it's not necessarily a bad thing. We are actually maintaining, which is something lifetime needs to do. I know we all look at a plateau as a terrible thing, but by talking about how we are maintaining a weight (not gaining!) it can actually be positive....not as big a positive as losing, but still something worth recognizing.

Ours was about portion control too! Had little bowls of things and we guessed to points/portion sizes, etc. was great!

Had a good talk with the people who had just started (including me), and asked how it went, and what was the worst/best parts -- really worth it, got feedback from the whole group (20 ish ppl)

Had a few Gold (Lifetime) members there, and they talked a bit about their experiences.

Had a nice point about how she had the utmost respect for people with .5 off, because it's worth it in the long run!
