View Full Version : I Want..........

After a weekend of REALLY trying to put into perspective WHY this journey is so important to me, I have decided to put my list here, so I can remind myself each and every time I feel like I might want to let things slide. So, here is my list of what I WANT to get out of my journey:

1. I want to be OFF blood pressure meds. (I went to the Docs today, and she has lowered the dosage by half. If I continue to make this progress she hopes that I can be off them by JULY!!!! )

2. I want to be able to get down on the floor and play trains with my grandson, and get back up again without any ones help. (I was able to do this over thanksgiving!!)

3. I want to go into a store at the mall and not have to look on the map to see what corner they have the fat lady clothes hidden in.

4. I want to be able to go to water country next summer with my family and be able to sit IN the tube on the lazy river.

5. I want to be able to go up the stairs in my home without getting so out of breath that my DH thinks I am gonna die. (Mission accomplished)

6. I want to be able to wear my wedding ring for the first time in 24 years (been married 27 years) ( Not quite yet, but, my Mom's ring fits for the first time in over 11 years)

7. I want to be just like Hoosier Daddy  , I want to be walking up the stairs with a laundry basket and have my pants fall down.

8. I want to be able to get a cute short hair cut that is easy to care for WITHOUT looking in the mirror and thinking "Who put that little tiny head on top of the huge body?. (Well, I got the cut, and you know what, I LIKE IT!!)

9. I want people to be able to see my eyes, and not have them 'sink' into the folds of fat on my face.

10. I want to be able to sing, or play my instrument for more than one measure without running out of breath.

11. I want for just ONE of my measurements (bust, waist, hips) to start with the #4 instead of 5 or 6 :sobbing: (I have at least ONE that starts with a 4 and no more 6's!!!)

12. I want to DROP a target points level, yup, you heard me. This, to me, would really be a sign that I was making REAL progress :strong: ( I did manage to accomplish this last week  )

13. I want to do this BECAUSE I AM WORTH IT!!!!!

I may add more as time goes by, but, right now, this is my focus. This is my top list of WHY this journey is so important to me.

Allison,

Great list. What instrument do you play? I play clarinet.

I want to go on the tube with you at Water Country. It sounds like a blast.

Great post!!!!!!!! You can do this. You have inspired me to create my own list this morning.I will post it behind my bedroom door. This way I will see it in the evening when I want to go down and get something to nibble on. I won't need to use extra points. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Zubie. It has become very important to me to re-read this as much as possible. Sometimes, I think we get sooooo wrapped up in the process of loosing the weight we loose sight of what was really important to us in the first place. I look forward to the time when I can say that I have accomplished all of the items on my list, and have to make a new one

^.^ I'm so happy that you've shared this with us :) and that you're making progress on your goals, get 'em gal!

(and I will say, I was THRILLED when my waist (the natural one, not the one where my pants go.) went to 3's, and my bust and hips went to 4's. I always said that I wasn't an hourglass, I was just an egg timer that was made with too much sand!)

Hello All!!
I have just returned from a vacation in Spain...for the past month. I am still jet-lagged, but am SOOO glad to be home....and also back on this board. I re-read the list posted...and it brings me right back into focus.
I won't weigh-in until Thursday (11/10) of this week...and I think I have done OK....and after reading these goals...I once more remember why I want to.
Missed you all,
Diana
