Have you ever been at a meeting when someone passes around a new product to try and you taste it and you can not fathom why anyone would EVER eat that????? I don't care if it is only a point. If it burned points I wouldn't eat it. I have decided if it doesn't taste good I am not gonna eat it! Skinny people don't eat stuff they don't like.

Haven't you tried a high cost, low points bar that tastes so bad you throw it away after the bite ever though you paid $2 for it?

I still  at people who find rice cakes enjoyable. When I'm dying for a piece of cake - a celery stick or rice cake just doesn't cut it. I'm safer making a big salad. It takes time to prepare and longer to eat. Throw in a slice of Whole grain bread and for 3 points I now feel full. It's still not a slice of cake and sometimes if I have the points left over, I just treat myself. But often it's just that I am getting hungry and need to eat.

Grainne, in my opinion, rice cakes are only good with peanut butter or melted cheddar cheese on them.... Kind of defeats the purpose eh? Sheila

Hi- They have rice cakes that are flavoured and the ones that are caramel chocolate with little chocolate bits in them are really good- also some of the falvoured rice chips are reaaly good too. It is also a learning curve over time of changing your taste buds- so if you do not have the "bad" things for a few months and spend some time eating a "low pt" thing eventually your taste buds adjust. Even the kids like rice crisps of various flavours and tortillaz- it is what we are used to and what we are used to are high fat high glop items. One thing that skinny people do is leave lots of food on their plate- do not stress or emotional eat and just eat smaller portions and less volume. SOmetimes we have to find replacements if we are stress eaters - it is not so easy to just change that habit overnight and it is a permanent habit in that you have to be vigilant about it. Good to get used to different foods.
Good Luck

I agree with reelriot...The rice cakes are really good. Try the flavored ones. I buy the mini rice cakes.

OK..guess I am part of the "wierd" group. I absolutely love the small rice cakes and the mini soy cakes by GeniSoy. I eat them with all kinds of things. They really fill me up and I love all of the different flavors.

Count me in too...I like the flavored mini rice cakes...cheddar cheese, chocolate, carmel, they really are tasty, not like the rice cakes that use to taste like cardboard...yuck, yuck, yuck, they have come a long way. Thank God!!!!

OK, I can't resist. LOL! Arlene, Dallas folks are "weird". For those of you not fortunate enough to be from Texas - that is a Texas joke - West End and all.
I can't say that I have ever had a craving for rice cakes.

I do like rice cakes--however I also believe that alot of this stuff is an "acquired taste"--at least that seems how it is with alot of the better food choices that I make! Somethings I did not really care for, but over time I found a flavor that I liked or I just got used to the texture, taste, etc.

I like rice cakes, even the styrafoam ones. I put prepared tuna on the rice cake and it is so much better than a tuna sandwich. Of course now I have to find a healthier way to make it.

We had someone pass around a bag of Veggie Crisps (I think that was the name of them) at one of our meetings. They were disgusting & I actually thought about spitting it into my hand...but there were quite a few people saying how delicious they were.
Different strokes for different folks!

It's the people who learn to like the low point substitute that are successful in the long haul. This is one of the points they have come up with on the National Registery of folks who have lost at least 30 pounds and kept it off for several years.

LOL! I love this statement because I have come to crave salads. Just the other day, I had to stop on the way home to make myself a salad at a local grocery store's salad bar. I used to swing on by the store because I craved some insanely greasy/sugary food. My, oh my, how the times they are a-changin'!

I like rice cakes, especially the carmal ones. I don't do salad too well unless I can put chicken on it. I also like soy milk though and no one else in my house will touch it

I have to admit..there are some items at meetings that are not that good. However, I have found the chocolate 2 point bars are fabulous. Worth a try if you haven't done so. Rice cakes...flavored are awesome!!! Another wonderful snack is 94% fat free popcorn with hot sauce (red hot) sprinkled on it. Yummy!!!
