Although it's almost been a whole week that I quit, I still feel disappointed in myself for not quitting earlier. I'm pregnant and it still took me a while to quit. I'm so mad at myself for not doing it earlier. :rage: But it will be 1 week on Sunday! So just a little yay for me

NJ- you can do it! Do it for your baby. You are doing great! 6 days- your withdrawl should be gone except for the occasional cravings. Keep coming back here for support when ever you need it. We are here for you. You are doing the right thing, and don't beat yourself up for not doing it sooner. Nicotine is a DRUG, as addictive as cocaine and heroin. The first thing they ask before your epidural is "are you a smoker?" there are A LOT more risks with anesthesia. You and your baby will be so healthy! I continued to smoke "lightly" on and off during my pregnancy. I was so ashamed. My husband didn't even know it. I smoked maybe once or twice a week, but that is NO EXCUSE. When my baby was born, all I did was obsess about her chances of SIDS being much greater because I had smoked, that was so much worse than a couple of days of withdrawl. The sooner you stop, the better it is for your baby, so pat yourself on the back, don't beat yourself up.

NJLadera,
Good for you for quitting. Don't just do it for the baby. Do it for yourself as well. I quit last November after smoking for 13 years and I still get cravings but I am so happy that I quit.
Now last week I joined WW so I can do something about my weight.
Keep us updated as to how you're doing and hang in there!

Thank you so much for your support. I have been feeling pretty good so far. But there are some moments when I think about it (when DH is acting like a jackass). But I'm 5 days off and I don't want to start over again. Just being able to quit has given me some new confidence in myself. I just hope it's still there after I have the baby and I'm back on WW. Again, thanks for the support!!!
