Hi Everyone,
I know I have been quiet for a bit. I have been traveling of course. I had two trips back to NYC and then a trip to VA last week.
It was great to see old friends and family and tie it in with business. Everyone commented that I look like a different person. It is certinately a huge ego boost.
However, here comes the part where I need help. I am getting close to goal and I feel like I am struggling. Last week, while on the road I had little choices for eating because I was with the large group. I did the portion control thing and tried to make the best choices that I could. However, it was hard.
Lately I have found myself to have an insaitable appetite. I always have healthy snack with me and I am "trying" to drink my water. I guess the botttom line is that I am so close to GW that I don't want to get cocky and blow it. I have been so totally focused sinced Jan and I am trying to continue that regieme, but as of late I have found things challenging including getting my exercise in.
I know that this journey isn't easy and I am committed to making this a life long change... but....
I guess what I need is a support system right now. I have been this close to goal in the past and then well.. you know.. the rest is history. I am totally committed to eating right, exercising etc. I just wished I wasn't so hungry all the sudden!
Thanks for listening!

Elizabeth, you are doing so well on your weight loss journey according to your signature. You are so close to your goal. Good for YOU!!!! :) . The munchies hit us all from time to time. I suggest you make yourself a little snack bag of peanuts, chocolate covered raising or soy beans, and some cereal (like rice chex or such). It has a sweetness to it, but fills you up. Don't eat more than a couple of handfuls at a time tho. You can also, munch on celery with peanut butter or cream cheese and pimentos, and cheese. Any kind of protein will help you get rid of your hunger pains. Soy milk is heavier than regular milk and fills you up too. It is very good for us girls too. Hope this helps. Hugs, Hazel

Elizabeth, you are doing great!!
My leader is going through the alphabet for food high in fiber. Why? Because fiber fills us up! We've talked about making breakfast choices that are high in fiber to keep us satisfied longer. One week she told us to choose foods that had at least 3g of fiber per serving.
Also, no mindless eating...if you do not get in that satisfaction factor when you eat then you will feel you still need to eat something an hour later. We've all done it!
I, too, think protein is needed to curb the hunger feeling at times.

Hi Elizabeth! You have done so very well with your weight loss journey and I just know you will reach goal. :bcbsalute Making the right decisions can certainly be tough while traveling. You know this, so that's half the battle! You are mentally prepared before you hit the road and that's great! But, about the munchies...keep up the water and make sure you have lots of 0-1 pt things close at hand! If you have the urge and HAVE TO snack...munch celery or a piece of sf hard candy. Bring those things w/you to the computer and TELL US ABOUT WHAT'S GOING ON! By the time you type and read a little, you'll be past the hunger! Most of all, go back to your original post and remember: how good the compliments felt and how good you feel. Read of how you KNOW what you need to do for exercise and that you admitted that you are committed as a BCBer. This will bring all of your reasons for starting to the forefront and should be a push to continue on!
I have been MIA for a while, too, but have promised myself to sit here: even a short time, everynight & write something. I would love to see you here with me!!!!!!!! What do ya say, buddy
Hugs & :buddysmoo

All,
Thanks for the voice of confidence. It has been a tough month, but I am home now after traveling and expect to not have to leave for at least another month. This will help me re-focus get back to a meeting and continue on the path which I have set.
I must not faulter as I have in the past. I am so close to being within my range I can almost feel it. The compliments I am getting from people who havent' seen me are great, but I can't let them get me cocky.
It is all of you who write and support me.. that keep me going.
You all are the best Single Buds! I plan to keep posting and keep this group OP as well as myself. I really need to see the end of the tunnel. The light is getting brighter!

Elizabeth,
I reached the top of my range at the end of July and since them I've been playing with the same **** 5 pounds. I love to eat a lot and have throughout the program. But even though what I'm eating is 95% wholesome food. Something is up.
Anyway, I'm trying CORE this week to relieve myself from worrying about consuminf too many fruits and veggies. It's only my second day. I'll let you know at the end of the week. Maybe it would want to try it a couple weeks too.

Yes, let me know how the works out for you. I have never done CORE, but it might be worth a shot for me. !
Thanks for responding to me!
Elizabeth
I found it pretty livable. I enjoyed being allowing myself to eat corn and peas and lima beans again. (I had a mindset that vegetables without a 0 point value don't count as vegetables.) Really enjoyed skim caps. without counting the milk, and aside from about an hour ago have been doing well with stopping at comfortable and satisfied. I find 35 points ample for the amount of non-core foods I was eating anyway. Anyway down 3.8 at weigh in today. So.......pretty good!
