Hi all, i'm new to weight watchers and doing it at home...and definately a veggi ww ! I have a few questions...anybody want to be my saviour ???
morning star garden burgers...how many points ?
sesame bun ...how many points ?
is there way to calculate the points in foods like the above ?
1 cup whole wheat flour = 8 points, if i use it to make some kind of a bread with no fat added....would it still be 8 points ?
does the point value change if u cook the veggies...other than the points for added fat ?
v8 juice is it considered mixed veg juice = 0 points ?
cant wait to hear from u all....and get me started !!!

If you're going to do this program, you owe it to yourself to get the information you need to do it right. I'd highly suggest going to at least one meeting to get the updated information. If you can't do that at least get some info from ebay or do some research on the internet.
Here are some links to get you started.
Basic Flex Plan Info (http://pub121.ezboard.com/fdottisweightlosszonefrm61.showMessage
?topicID=133.topic)
DWLZ Food Lists (http://www.dwlz.com/WWinfoTOC.html)
DWLZ
Vegetable Nutrition (http://www.dwlz.com/WWinfo/vegetablenutrition.html)
The link for Basic Flex plan info gives a formula to calculate points for any food you have nutritional info for.
For a recipe like bread you'd need to add the nutritional info for all the ingredients then divide by the number of servings then calculate the points per serving. You can also count the points in each ingredient then add them and divide by number of servings if that's easier for you.
Also, be sure to check out the BCB Philosophy (http://www.healthdiscovery.net/forums/faq.php?faq=new_faq_item) and the Training Manual (http://www.healthdiscovery.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=15) for this site.

Hello fellow veggie girl! Go to the recipe boards for some bread recipes that are low pts. There is one somewhere for bran bread that I've also used as a pizza dough. It makes a loaf in the bread machine for 12 servings and 1 pt each. There is also a great bread machine pita recipe for 1 pt each (very small). I've just ended up buying Wonder lite buns for my veggie burgers. Good luck!

I don't remember what brand... Nature's Own? has a nice sugarfree burger bun for 1 point each. They are sooooo soft, my whole family loves them, WW or not!

Hi Sarah!
Well I am a fellow vegetarian and know alot of veggie points! If you get the Morning Star Farms garden patties (purple label) they are only 1 point per patty! If you combine those with 98% fat free white buns it is a 2 point burger!! Not too shabby.
If you like Morning Star Farms I highly recommend their sausage patties, they are also 1 point and I like to combine them with a weight watchers english muffin and a slice of 2% cheese for a 3 point breakfast.
Garden burger also has something called a riblet (it is soo tasty!), kinda high in sodium but it's only 3 points per riblet which is huge! Stay away from the buffalo wings (yuck). Way to salty and I couldn't even eat them.
Hope some of this helps!

I like the buffalo wings, it's what hooked my mom and sister on alternative foods (willing to try now). I usually stick to the plain nuggets though, and dip them in ketchup. They are much lower in fat.
I love the ?"nutty"? flavor of grainy wheat breads and am almost always willing to spend the points on it.
And YES THE RIBLET!!! I eat this when I feel like being 'fancy'. I live alone and usually make simple dinners, but I will fix up a baked potato and salad to go alongside this.
I have cooked it almost all ways (micro, boil, oven) and the oven is the best IMO. Wrapped in foil, it bakes right alongside my potato. I guess it's not really that fancy, since I use the 4pt frozen twice baked potatoes, but I feel like I'm doing something special:kiss:

Sarah-
Maybe I just got a bad batch of buffalo wings..or maybe it was how I cooked it. I nuked it in the mircrowave..maybe that's something that is better off in the oven! I was really looking forward to them but my roommate who is also vegetarian could't stand them either! I've never tried the twice baked potato..but for only 4 points that's something I'll look up!

The Morning Star Farms garden veggie patty (purple label) is 100 calories with 4 grams of fiber and 2.5 grams of fat = only 1 point!! You can usually find them at Dominicks and most Jewel locations. The buns I use are Healthy Living 98% fat free buns and they are higher in fiber than normal buns so they are only 1 point as well and I also find them at Dominicks!! Good Luck!
