I had been interested in Core, so before I went to a meeting I talked to a friend who is on Core and she kinda explained to me what it was about and told me in brief what was allowed and what wasn't. To me it seems very confusing and restrictive and that you don't get alot of choices. To me it looked like it restricts your pastas, breads and starches. I know I couldn't do that, those are what 4 out of 7 of my meals a week are. I guess it works better for some and not for others. I could try it and if I don't like it, always go back to flex. :)

yup, it is true that if you like to eat a lot of bread, pasta and other baked starches then you will find yourself using up your 35 WPA quickly. BUT, as a former major bread eater it is worth trying for a week or so to get yourself trying some others foods. You can eat potato, whole wheat pasta and rice, but just once a day ( you can eat it again if you want to count it). So some people will have a baked potato or pasta with dinner, and count some bread for a lunch sandwich.
Other than that it is easy because you can eat whenever, and as much as you need to, to feel full, from the list which is all fresh fruit, red, green and yellow vegetables, lean meats, ff yogurt, cottage cheese, fish, ff dairy, healthy oils, low fat popcorn, sf/ff pudding.
Core forces you to eat healthy because even if you spend all 35WPS on treats it disappears pretty quickly so you still have to eat from the list of healthy food.
Keep reading here and maybe you will be inspired to try it!

As a former carb queen, I agree that you should give Core a try. Although I'm not eating a lot of breads, I am eating whole grains like couscous, kamut, oat bran, etc. Combining these foods with veggies, beans or meats is very filling. I am really experimenting with new foods and have discovered some wonderful things to eat. I still eat bread, just a lot less than I used to eat. The thing I like best about Core is that it really promotes healthy eating. When I did Flex, I often used my points for things like chips, pretzels, cookies, etc. Since I've been doing Core, my cravings for sweet and salty processed foods has been greatly reduced. I think the more of that stuff I ate, the more I wanted. I feel much better since I began to follow Core.

Thank you all for your help. I think next week I may try Core and see how it goes, who knows, I may really like it.
One more question, I know you don't have to count anything unless it's not core, but is it wise to still journal?

I think you can still journal if you want to. You do need to minimally keep track of WPA and APs. I like to journal just what I eat to get a sense of how balanced my food is, not to add up points.

I meal plan so that is kind of like journalling but other than that I am just tracking the 35 WPA's.

Something I did that helped, on the advise of one of my ww buddies, is take the getting started booklet and highlight all the core foods that you like. That helped because there is a lot of food in there and it helped me feel less restrictive. After doing that I menu planned for the week - my first week went something like this: chicken stir fry over rice, pork fried rice, beef stroganoff over whole wheat noodles, veggie omlet with home made fried potatoes, meatloaf and mashed potatoes, beef stew, and shrimp and grits.
I have since done that with the food companion and I really feel like I am not restrictive at all.
Good luck!

I think I've been inspired to try Core. I need to try to eat a little healthier and I think this might help.
Thanks for all your help.:)
