Hi buddies,
My doc says I am young......LOL my first born will be 30 in a few days......Now I have arthritis in both knees. Since I am young............I don't want to go on strong drugs yet, but I also hate pain.

What do you buddies take and what kind of exercise is best?
Thanks,
Tinka
Ps. I know that it is even MORE important to get back to goal and stay there.

Hi Tinka,

Don't feel bad...I'm 41 and I have rheumatoid arthritis (so I'm on Azulfidine & Plaquenil on extra tough days I take a couple of Aleve along with my usuals).

My doctor tells me that the best exercise I can do is water aerobics and yoga along with walking.

Good luck and good health!

I've never been diagnoised with arthritis but I have constant joint paint from lymes disease and I have a feeling if it's not arthritis now, it will be in the future..and I'm only 27. I do find that aleve can really help with the achiness and pain. You do have to becareful of the types of exercise you do too..heh i tried jogging and the first two days it wasn't so bad but by the third day my knees were so tight and in pain I could barely get up the stairs! You may want to try some water based exercises like swimming or water aerobics..they also say the elliptical machines aren't hard on your knees so you may want to try that too. Did you dr. recommend anything for you to take? I had a chiropractor give me something that was suppose to help rebuild cartilidge in my knees..but it didn't agree with me so i stopped taking it. You may also want to look into yoga. I've heard that it can help too. Good luck!
