This seems like a relatively simple idea, but one I've never really thought of until yesterday.

I love juice! I'd choose juice over any other beverage every day of the week and twice on Sunday. However, it's full of sugar and you don't get the fruit fiber to balance it out. It's also quite point-heavy depending on how much you drink, and I like a BIG glass. :D

I digress. I found this excellent 100% juice or pear nectar as it's called on the bottle and I wanted to try it. But, holy moly, it's 3 points per glass! :ugh: But then I got the idea from the book I was reading to mix 1 point worth of juice with my new favorite thing in the whole wide world (aside from my black pants and yogurt cheese :p ) sparkling water! Now I have the best of both worlds - an awesome drink that's perfect for the hot weather that's low in points and low in sugar with all the great taste. Yay! :D

Paris, I do this in the summer with mango nectar! It's one of my favorite low-point "treat" drinks. :D

I almost always dilute OJ with water, but had not thought about sparkling... I will have to try this soon! Thanks for the idea!

Suzie mango nectar sounds divine! I will have to look for that one.

Sarah with OJ it would kind of be like a mimosa!

You can get the flavored sparkling water that is 0 points - I love white grape.

Yum! That sounds so good with ice and a straw in a tall glass! I think I will have to put sparkling water on my shopping list.

Thanks.

I wanted to bump this up because I've been having this to ease my sore throat and it's been like magic! I am finishing up my pear nectar and DH bought me some peach nectar yesterday.

This sounds great for those warm spring and summer days yet to come.

Fruit juice and cold unsweetened green tea make a nice combination too. I especially like this when hiking or working outside.
