....who are struggling!

1. If you've been here longer than a year, and
2. Your weight loss has stopped, or you've gained and,
3. You feel like a fraud hanging around when your heart just hasn't been in it.....

Identify yourselves!!!!!!

I KNOW you're hiding!!!!!

OK, have I got your attention? So what are we going to do about this? We've all been successful together before, we can do it again.

Post your plan for taking charge. Make a commitment. Let's do this.

Hi! I have been lurking for a long time. I am struggling lifetimer who has gained back some weight. :( I am working toward getting off the extra pounds. I guess I need to find the excitement I once had. Reading all the posts does help me a lot. I know I can do it!
Thanks for remembering me!

Good to see you, Crystal. Get yourself out of lurk mode, girl.

I find that posting helps me stay accountable. As long as I'm posting, I stay OP, since I cannot fib to my buddies. I don't know about you, but when I lurk, I find it easier to be lazy.

I'm here  and have been here all along.

I post pretty much every day.

I'm in my second yr. on this journey. I lost 55 lbs. in a little over 8 mos. when I started, then my "mind" went "somewhere"??? and I gained back 15 lbs. in no time, even though I was still "here" and going to WW. every week.
However, I'm now back on track and as you can see by my signature line, the weight "is" coming off.

The holiday season is a major difficult time for me emotionally and I've just never got it under control yet.

Anyway, I'm here and on the road to success :strong:

:bcbsalute Another old timer reporting in! I gained my weight when I gave up smoking so I was awol over a year. I didn't post because I knew the strict rules at BCB and the main reason, I was too :embarrass !

I rejoined online in Sept. and I do agree, posting and reading posts keep me going. This is a long journey and I do believe Caron (DesptobeHlthy) first used the quote, Failure is Not an Option.

I hope lots more buddies who have been awol report in. It's never to late and we all know, we've GOT to start sometime so what's wrong with now?

:welcome: Old Timers!

Thank you for this, Sue!! :buddysmoo

This is just the type of motivational booost I need to get my turtle butt BACK serious on this road to weight loss and good health!!

I'm one of the Old, Old Timers having joined Weight Watchers and our Bootcamp in September of 2000 (Goodness!! Almost 4 1/2 years ago!!)

It was long time coming, taking about 2 years, but I slowly lost the 50 pounds to touch down on my goal weight!! =)
Then, I unfortunately gained the majority back after a series of family hardships :ugh: (a miscarriage, and life threatening illnesses of our then 13 y/o daughter -- Bipolar disorder and Bulimia, with suicide attempts and multiple hospitalizations throughout that year)

After our daughter regained her health and is doing much better, I started back on my weight loss program AGAIN on the road to losing this weight once and for all...

Now, I HAVE been struggling yet again recently, following the death of my mom this past Christmas... I've been battling a lack of motivation as well as guilt for not putting forth the required effort it takes to work the program and stay "OP"... I've been battling the grief of our loss and eating my feelings mostly, not really Trying to work my program =/ ... THAT's mainly why I havent' been posting... because, ofcourse, as BCB members, we're about Staying OP, Working our Programs and "Doing what it Takes" to make weight loss a reality!!

So that's my story... And I know there's no excuse for any of us to go astray and STAY astay!!

... Life happens and there's always gonna be "stuff" that comes up that can pose to be an an excuse or obstacle if we ALLOW it... We have to CHOOSE to be "OP", despite the trials and hardships that come our way!!

I'm now back to within 11 pounds of my heaviest weight and I have a choice to make... the SAME choice EACH of us has to make each day: To BE "OP" and choose the lifestyle that promotes a healthy weight or to make poor choices and sacrifice my health and weight loss goal...

Thank you for this post, Sue!! :D
Thank you for drawing your old buddies out of the woodwork!!

Let's all lock arms and march forward on up this road!!

hugs and love,
peggy =)

Way to go buddies!

I just knew you were there......some in lurk mode, and some still trucking on down the road. :exercise: :exercise: :exercise:

There has been a series of threads around BootCamp that "it just isn't the same". The old tough love approach seems to have given way to a softer approach. I think the tough love way of life was what worked for so many of us.....and I hope to find my way back to that.

What better way to do it than to bond with the buddies who travelled that way with us before.

I'm making a commitment to myself and each of you to do a better job. I don't promise to be perfect, but I promise to try...to drink more water, :water1: to post more often, to keep up with my exercise :exercise2 and to eat within plan. I know that if I come here and post, I will stay more accountable. I know that I won't lie to my buddies. I don't know why that is so, it just is......

Are you with me?

Ok, color me red!:embarrass

The only reason I can think that I didn't congratulate you was that must've been during the time the old puter took a poo!

I know I wouldn't have missed that unless I was hog tied!!

So, belated as always... Congratulations Sue!!:buddysmoo

Hi there,
Was around a few years back as well and remember a lot of the people who have posted in this thread. It's very comforting to see I'm not the only one that fell off the wagon due to circumstances in their lives. But, in a more positive sense, I'm realllly happy to see others come back just as I have this week because this means something important to all of us. Peggy, I didn't know about your struggles recently. My prayers are with you and your family. :)

I pledge to stay on my program, drink my water, journal every day and walk. It's been a tough week getting back into it but I know we are all in this together, and it makes this journey easier.

Thanks for the post. It was perfect.

We can do this gals!!!! One day at a time looking towards healthy and skinnier us.

Chris, I'm pretty sure that you DID congratulate me. I didn't copy an all-inclusive list......just some of the names that were familiar and seemed to have disappeared. (I don't have that list with me right now, but I will check it from home...I think you were there)

I knew that you, and Peg, and Jan and some others were still around :D You are such troopers!

I am an oldtimer and I too am back. Stuff happens and I am back on my path in my journey to get fit. I worked so hard to get to goal. I made goal in the December of 2003, but a divorce got in my way and I gained every pound and more back. I am back in meetings and trying to post here daily. This board was my motivation then and I Know I can do it again.

I am recommited and back in the OP mode.

I don't know if I really fit into this category since I didn't go astray - I just "left" to have a baby. Well, the baby is now 3 weeks old and I'm ready to shed the baby weight and the 30ish pounds I still needed to lose when I was surprised with the pregnancy last May. I have to limit the amount of exercise I do right now since I just had my 3rd c-section and haven't been released by the dr yet - but I can definitely count points, drink more water and eat more fruits and veggies! The baby's Baptism is in about a month and I'd love to fit into my pre-pregnancy pants by then (not much hope with the shirts since I am nursing and overly "endowed" in that area these days :p )

:) Membership is not inclusive, or exclusive......simply an effort to scare some lurkers out of the busshes and back into the fold!

I'd like to see BootCamp active and vibrant and hardcore like it was, and I'm ready to take off the padded gloves and start slugging to make that happen. Maybe I can earna few AP's along the way :D

Hi,

It's been a long time since I posted but I definately see a lot of familar names on this thread. I left when I got pregnant and my baby will be three in March. I want to get back on track since I feel better when I'm following WW. I'd also like to have another one but I want to lose some of the weight first and be healthier.

Right now I'm trying to figure out whether to go to meetings or try the at home program. I'm not where I want to be but I'm working on it.

Peggy, I'm sorry to hear about your Mom.

Talk to you soon.

Ok Sue,

I will come out of the bushes. This is really strange because I haven't been on the website in a long time. Yesterday I decided to lurk.

I emailed Peggy to let her know that I had watched Oprah and have decided to own up to what has happened....basically gaining all my weight back.

Last night I printed some food journals from the DWLZ site and decided that today was the day. I woke up, ate a great OP breakfast, exercised, went to my friends house to WI and own up to my weight, and logged onto here to see what was happening and to get encouraged.

Low and behold, here is this thread!! With my name in it!! Kinda freaky if you ask me....or maybe it was meant for me to see.

And there's Jan quoting me!! "Failure is NOT an option".

Wow....definitely a motivator for me!!! Thanks for posting this!

Hey Peggy,

I figured something was up when I hadn't heard anything from you.

I am still writing on my Daily Journal sheet I printed off of DWLZ last night. I've downed 2 liters of water and working on the third (before I head to work tonight). Don't want to spend all night in the rest room.

Sue.....let me know when you find that kicking machine. I'll be the first to bend over! LOL

Thanks Guys!

Sue,

I log on from time to time. Join the challenges to help boost my weight loss.

Two years ago I made goal. Stopped losing at that point tried to maintain but I gained a lot of the weight back. Got to 205 and decided enought was enough I was going to get serious about this. I am now down to 183. I would like to be down to 145 by summer. I know I can do it with the help of all of you guys.

Caron... Seeing your email brought tears to my eyes. You were such an inspiration to me the first time around. I am glad to see you are back.
