Bonjour!

I had a great WW meeting yesterday: our regular leader just adopted a brand new baby and so the head trainer in our area took over the meeting for a couple of weeks and she's at least as good as our already excellent leader.

She brought up the concept of treating ourselves with love and kindness and be our own valentine this year and treat ourself well.
Our topic was : positive self talk. She gave us a "luuuve stone" to rub when we hear the little negative voice in our head saying things like: "I lost 1 pound this week... but I couldn't have lost more" or "I am at goal (me) but I still don't like my thighs" .

What do you do to fight your negative inner voice?

Anyway, our homework for next meeting is to write down a positive thing about ourself every day for a week :buddysmoo .
Take care (and I mean it: take good care of yourself!)
~~Marie

I loved this week's meeting topic! It really resonated with me, in more areas than just weight loss, too. I have a tendency to say negative things about myself and using positive self-talk is just what I need to start believing that I am strong and can do whatever life throws my way!:strong:

Last week, my leader said that she once got an idea from a counselor, who told her to say the word "cancel" out loud every time you have a negative thought. Actually having to say the word out loud will take your mind off of the thought and put you in a better mindset. Plus, it will make you feel kind of silly and smile, which they say gives you an instant mood lift! LOL :D
