I am glad to get rid of the 9lbs but gosh I feel it is taking more of a struggle to lose it. Maybe it is my age? , lol.
I worked out last night for one hour on the treadmill and was realllllly hoping to see something change on my scales at home this morning. ( I know it is a bad habit and i know isnt good to weigh everyday ). Nothing, zip, the scales didnt move , so here is a question for you buddies. If I didnt get in all my points for yesterday , I think I was minus 3 points. Would this make a difference or again am I being too demanding and need to be more patient for daily results ? Advice would be appreciated!
Enjoy the day .

I noticed that last Thursday night I really indulged, but stayed on Program by using my extra 35 points. Friday morning, my scale said I had gained 3 pounds. Saturday I weighed my self on my home scale before I went to my meeting, and it had not budged from the extra 3. I get to my meeting, weigh-in (it was my 1st weigh since joining) I had lost weight, of course, but not the 11 lbs I had envisioned Thursday morning. By Sunday morning, my home scale was 1 lb below my Thursday morning weight...

I have learned 3 things from this:
1. I do not lose weight on a day by day basis, and that is normal.
2. I should not eat all my extra points at one time 48 hours before a weigh-in
and
3. I should only weigh in at meetings

Thank you for sharing the three things you have learned. I think that is good advice. I have a bad habit of 'expecting' my numbers to change overnight.
We will get through this together and way to go on your weight loss !!!

I agree with what Jiminy's Cricket said, you can't weight yourself too much or you will jsut feel disappointed. Once or twice during the week might not hurt, but the number at w/i is all that matters and who knows if your scales are calibrated the same either. Sounds like you are staying OP, so now that you are learning how your body works and when to use and not use your flex points, you should do great!

You need to weigh yourself only once a week, otherwise the daily fluctuations will drive you nuts.

As far as points go, you must give your body fuel to lose the weight, so make sure you are eating at least your target points. You also have any Activity Points and Weekly Points Allowance to add in as you would like.

Worked out on the treadmill? Did you walk? Run? Do some treadmill tapes that have you doing lunges and stuff on the treadbelt?

Any of the above could cause some temporary water retention while muscles repair themselves.

There's an article at BCB, see the Articles link at the top of the page, one of the more interesting ones is "Why The Scale Lies". There's another thread on the daily called "Overnight Gains". Both are excellent and worth ferreting out. :)

Thanks so much for the thoughts and encouragement.
I didnt know that about retaining water while working out so I will check out the link. I think I will also discipline myself NOT to weigh every morning , If I can discipline myself to watch my intake of food the scales should be a " shoo-in" .
:exercise: I appreciate everyones input!

I can tell you from experience that once a week weigh-in's is the only way to go. Even those will fluctuate but nowhere near as bad as daily weighing.

And ditto to the comment about needing more points when you work out (if you are brand new to WW you will learn about this in week 3). Don't think you're doing yourself a favor by being under your points. You need to eat your minimum. You don't want to mess up your metabolism.
