This week we talked about what motivates you. What made you come to the first meeting. And what keeps you coming. For me I will admit it was the ick! factor. What I mean by that is how I felt about the way I looked. It was depressing to know that I gained all that weight back. And I did not want to go out and buy more Fat Girl clothes. What now keeps me going is wanting to be a healthy active Nana to my granchildren. I know I cannot do it without accountability and support. The meeting and this board give me that.
We talked about other types of motivation. Two that come to mind are putting a picture of yourself at a thinner weight somwhere where you will see it. And buying an outfit one size smaller and hanging it somewhere where you wilol see it. One woman wears the same pants to work so when one losens up she takes down the hanging one and buys the next lower size and hangs them up. She has beed through 4 different sizes so far. :) Catherine

I wanted to share a powerful tool that my leader did on Tuesday.
I usually go to another (and better) leader on wednesday but I was pleasantly surprised by this tool. She made us all close our eyes and actually visualize what we would be / look / feel like when we reach our goal, with whom and where we were, etc... I had tried this on my own but was never really able to get as much details as when she guided us through this exercise. Pretty powerful stuff to feel strong and thin and sexy (at the park in swimsuit with my friends, because I didn't remove my shorts last year , and then doing pushups and feeling strong!).
She also asked us what was the last straw that made us join WW. For me it was spending a week with a bunch of pretty and young 20 something for training at work and feeling terribly old and fat. That made me want to do something about my weight. THat was reinforced by some pictures taken this summer.... My arms looked HUGE!! And (for once in my life) I wasn't even feeling fat! Go figure!
Have a great week!

When I first started WW, my motivation was a friend of mine that worked with me. She joined WW and lost 67 lbs. I couldn't believe it, she did everything right before my eyes. She turned into a completely different person. She pushed me to join and I went. I love it, I love my leader, I love being able to look at myself and love myself, completely. My motivation now is my Signature. Looking at my SW and my CW and knowing how far I've come and how far I need to go. That motivates me.

The reason that I started Weight Watchers...was to be thinner for a wedding I'm in that's taking place in June. Two of my roommates are also in the wedding and we all talked about losing weight together. One of them lost some weight over the summer because her mom was on WW (and lost 100 lbs), but she has now gained it all back PLUS some. The other roommate started with me, but after about a month decided that she didn't care what she looked like in the wedding pictures. That's when I found BCB. It is the support I need. Anyway, after 5 months I'm VERY close to my goal. And we ordered our dresses a few weeks ago AND I ORDERED A SIZE 6!!! I didn't know that was possible.
Anyway, I feel like I've inspired people to join and make a healthier "them". My mom joined about 4 days after I started and my aunt and uncle joined a few weeks later.
I have to say that my best two moments have been when my parents and boyfriend saw me for the first time (6 weeks after I started). Jaws DROPPED. I go to school 250 miles away from my parents/boyfriend, so everytime they see me, I've lost more. I love it. It's great!
Ok, enough babbling from me!
