Hello,

Any other avid readers out there?

I just finished The Time Travelers Wife, what an incredible book,I loved it! Has anyone else read it , what did you think?

I think I'm going to start either West Wind North Chatter or Girls in Pants (the 3rd the Traveling Pants series.) I just read a really good book called True to Form by Elizabeth Berg a really cute, lesson learning book about a 12 yr old girl. Very good.

My ultime fav book is A Gracious Plenty by Sheri Reynolds, then The Clan of the Cave Bear, Fortunes Rock by Anita Shrieve.

Darn I gotta run I'll check back later,

Tanya

I'm not reading anything at the moment.

I'm trying to get interested in Canadian books. Our retired librarian published a list of his 50 favourite Can. books and then had an "awards" night, which I went too, but frankly I didn't know hardly any of the books mentioned or even the authors. Hope I'm smarter by next year when he has this night out again.

I think I posted the 50 on this site. Then, he mentioned 10 which got special awards.

I'm an avid reader and I've read quite a few of the Oprah picks and some of the fluff ones that are popular too.

If you like Mystery/Suspense stuff, I just read a great book by Laurie R. King called Folly. I'm hoping to get another one of her books tomorrow at the library. This one was so good I could barely put it down. :D

I just finished
P.S. I Love you by an Irish writer named Cecilia Aherne. It is about the first year after a young woman loses her husband to a brain tumour.
Sounds depressing, but very moving and even funny in places.
Apparently, it is in development to be made into a movie. My book club has just done this book. I'm glad we did. It was great.
Next up on book club is The Davinci Code. I never read it. Has anybody out there?

Ashlee,
A good Canadian mystery writer is L.R. Wright. Her mysteries are set in Squamish, BC. Unfortunately, she died a few years ago, but my sister told me about her. She was a fabulous writer. The way she would describe a room or a situation, you felt like you were in the room with the main characters.

I just finished Summer of Fear by Lois Duncan. It's a book I read when I was a teenage and she was my favorite author.

For fluff I like Jennifer Wein'er's book, Good In Bed, In Her Shoes. I have Little Earthquakes on hold at the library but haven't gotten it yet.

I don't read much "serious" fiction. Right now I'm knee deep in the Passion of Knitting, cause I'm learning how to knit.

Hey Cindy,

Folly is excellent...my aunt recommended that to me some time back. Does anyone like to read science fiction or fantasy?
