Janice (((HUGS))))I cannot help in the medical part but wanted to say IMHO that sticking to plan couldnt hurt you. WW is about eating healthy. I know its easier said than done but try not to worry until you see your dr next. Make up a list of questions and have it ready to go when you see the DR. This helped me to get everything across I needed to when my husband was diagnosed with cancer of his parotid gland last year. Even down to food questions- write it down buddy. If you have areally great dr he/she may even take time to talk to you over the telephone.
Hugs, youre in my thoughts

I am pretty sure there is a thread on PCOS on the Health thread somewhere - may take some searching, but there are other Buddies who have the same medical issue. Good luck!

Hi,
I have PCOS and have done for a few years - possibly one of the reasons why I gained weight so rapidly???
I found that cutting any and all sugars out of my diet help amazingly. That also included white breads/pasta/potatoes etc... basically if it was white. I wasn't touching it. I did have to live on boiled brown rice (no salt) and steamed green vege (no salt) for about 6 weeks. Literally! They also thought that I might have had a food allergy on top of the PCOS that was making me feel so bad.
If you are on Flex then you might like to try Core. I'm not really sure how that program works but it sounds similar to cutting out the refined sugars/sugar making foods. (Refined starch breaks down to sugars very rapidly- take a piece of white bread, pop it in your mouth and chew it for a while. The amylase in your saliva starts to break it down into sugars while it is still in your mouth and it starts to taste sweet).
I was also put onto a high doasge form of Birth control pill and had to have blood tests every month/then every three months to check my hormone levels. I'm still not completely normal in terms of hormone levels -but I am a lot closer than I was!!!
Hope some of this helps

I have a close friend with PCOS. She is a healthy body weight and trained for her first marathon recently. So it can be done!!
She is very careful with what she eats, not only to manage her weight, but to control blood sugar symptoms etc. She met with a dietitian to get recommendations. From what she said (this is my interpretation, it might be best to see a dietitian yourself) but essentially the dietitian said the key's were:
-6 mini-meals per day
-every mini-meal consists of a mixture of carbs and protein (ie crackers+cheese, meat+vegetables, cottage cheese+fruit)
-very low in refined flours and sugar (ie only sugar from natural sources such as fruit or sugar substitutes, lots of wholegrains but no white flour/rice/pasta)
-consistant workouts help stabilize blood sugar too (ie at least 30min of cardio 6 days per week)
