:bcbsalute This is a wonderful Latino soup that is totally core! The young lady that gave me the recipie said that it is a combo of her Grandmother's, from Mexico and an Aunt, from Puerto Rico!
Liza's Pozole:
Whole chicken cut up
FF broth
package chili pods
large can white hominey
salt, pepper, garlic, Nature's seasoning to taste
Boil chicken in broth and seasonings
Remove stems and de-seed chilies
Boil chilies in H2O until soft
Blend in blender until liquid with some broth and set aside
Debone and deskin chicken and put back into broth
Pour in chili liquid to taste
Add hominey
Bring back to boil and remove from heat
Serve topped with shredded cabbage and squeezed lime.
I haven't made this yet, but we are suppose to cool down by Friday, so I thought that it would be good for the weekend. I had Liza's and it was awesome! Looks fairly easy, too. She also said that they serve it with warm corn tortillas.
Enjoy!
