Goodmorning!
I'm new as of yesterday to BCB and think you all are a wonderful network of support and inspiration!
My question is...Are WW still providing food products to Canada? I remember a few years ago I saw lots in the frozen section and bottled items on the shelves. I can't seem to find anything now. Would some members from Canada, namely Ontario care to comment and hopefully guide me in finding some goodies? Thanks and have a great day!

P.S. This morning I'm going to officially join WW (again!).

Hi Sherry!

From what we were told a few years ago, WW products are made by Heinz Canada, and they dont' feel that there is a good enough market for WW products. The only thing you can buy are the breads and the bars/ candies at the meetings. If anyone else has seen anything, I haven't heard.

I buy the WW. bread here. I understand some places have the WW. rolls too. I used to be able to buy the jam also, not sure if it's still around.

I never actually bought much WW. "food" when we did have it here. There is lots of great "foods" to buy, i.e. fresh fruits and veggies, soy products, various snack items too.

Thanks for replying Ashlee and Ottermom.

Yes, I agree that there are many yummy items on the shelves and freezer sections in our Canadian grocery stores, but I'm alittle disappointed that they felt the market was such that they pulled them. The advertisements in the WW magazines sure look good!

Un the upside of this, Dairy Queen has a delicious orange/vanilla and also a chocolate icecream bar that are only 1 point and they are very good. Have you tried them?

I love the DQ bars! They are awesome!

Check out the President's Choice TGTBT line for some low-points, high-nutrition products. Their frozen dinners are awesome, and so are the diet sodas (Apple & Blueberry are my faves!) There are advantages to being Canadian!

Thanks CordyC!

I'll definately check the TGTBT line out. I'd forgotten about it until now. I have enjoyed frozen meals and other things in the past. Great for work lunches when I'm too lazy to make my lunch the night before:) .

Sherry - Check out the Chapman's ice cream products. Chapman's No Sugar Fudge Bars - really, really good I think - 2 points. They make ice cream too.
I found the Skinny Cow products, which are popular in the U.S., but they are pricey and really not worth the money.

The Breyers fat free creme sickles are 1 point - very good too.

Check out the Special K bars - 2 points for 1 - they come in about 4 flavours too. They are like Special K cereal with a "icing" (yogurt) topping - quite nice too.

There are a lot of different flavours of the large rice cakes, some have more points. I like the popcorn ones for 1 point each.

I like the Boca Burgers (1 point each) over the various Yves veggy burgers.

In the cold weather, I like Carnation lite hot choc. too for 1.5 pts.

A lot of the ff. yogurts are good too. They are made a lot better than they used to be years ago.

Some of the Lean Cuisines are ok. for a change. Quite a bit of sodium in most of them though. The Oriental Beef Stir Fry has 4 points. Some have more than that.

We have "Licks" products here. When you "read" about them you think they are low fat, but the Licks Nature Burger "Soy" has almost 6 points - The Boca burgers and Yves veggy products are better than that.

Soups are great to make ahead when the weather gets cool. I have the new TurnAround cook book and I'm making a few soups from it. Check out the soup recipes on this site too. I love broccoflower soup best of any. It's an old recipe I've made for yrs.

Hope you find some things you enjoy.

Your signature line mentions finding exercise you enjoy. I "LOVE" walking. It's made a huge difference in my "shape" even though I'm not at goal. I'm going to start a strength (weight) program on my own this Fall.

You can do it :strong:

I just check at Lick's website (http://www.lickshomeburgers.com/products/nutrition.html), and the burgers themselves are 4.31 points and the bun is 5.2, so 9.5 points for the whole thing (and I've been counting them as 7 points since 2000  ). To me, though. they still taste better than the Boca and Yves.

The PC organics chocolate and vanilla cake mixes are as close to a reduced fat mix as you can get (they contain no milk), so I use them for my Applesauce cakes.

Wow! I'm amazed at the help you guys can provide! This is better than I dreamed it would be!

I've heard of Bocca burgers before but don't know where to buy them. I've had Yves burgers and while they're "okay" I'd like to try the other ones you mentioned.

Thanks to both of you Ashlee and Ottermum for your suggestions!

I've got to leave the office for the rest of the afternoon but will check back in later from home.

Oh Ashlee, I've got this walking program from Prevention that you might be interested in, I'm going to give it another look tonight and see if I can't make myself committ to it. I tried before, but didn't last very long. Maybe if I checked in daily with someone else who was doing it or something similar? (hint hint??:exercise2 )

Again, Thanks!
