Usually when I plan to have bulgur for breakfast I nuke 40g of bulgur in 1 cup of milk sweetened with DV SF syrup for 2 minutes, then I let it sit in the fridge overnight.
Last night when I went to make my bulgur for today's breakfast I found I was almost out of milk. :(
I only had just over 1/4 cup of milk left so I nuked the 40g of bulgur in the milk and a big splash (about 3tbs maybe? I'll measure next time) of DV SF German Chocolate Cake Syrup for 2 minutes.
I let it cool a bit then I stirred in just under 3/4 cup of FF plain yogurt and put it in the fridge overnight. OMG! This morning I had this creamy, yummy, almost pudding-y bowl of heaven. The bulgur gave it a great chewy texture that I just loved.
Totally Core or 4 points on Flex

Joanne--I'm guessing you zap it in the morning to get it hot? Or do you eat this cold?

This morning I ate this with the yogurt cold and it was really good. I haven't tried hot yogurt so I'm not sure if I would like it.
When I make it with all milk I will sometimes heat it up and sometimes not.
When I make it with Chai flavor syrup I really like it warmed up.
I just nuke it 2 minutes in the morning when I do it that way.

After reading this thread, I went downstairs to make this for tomorrow. I usually only make my bulgar with chicken flavor as aside for fish or whatever. Hope I like it.

Sounds good, but how much is 40g of bulgar? TIA!

40g is the serving size on my brand of bulgur. It's equal to about 1/4 cup dry.

Joanne,
This sound very interesting, I too usually have it as a side dish with chicken or fish. So I will give this a try. Thanks for sharing.

I accidentally posted this on the Core Foods version of this recipe, so I'm putting it here for Flexies.
I have to share that the last two times I've made this I've added 1 point's worth of dried apricots when I mix in the yogurt the night before. The apricots swell up over night and add a great chewy texture to the bulgur.
I'm lovin' this! YUM! I used amaretto one time and white chocolate DV today.
So good.

Yummy!
I really liked this, and I am willing to bet that it will "hold me" for awhile......now I need to get some more syrup, and some more bulgur!
Thanks for sharing!

I really enjoyed this. I made mine with the yogurt mixed in, I think next time I will decrease the milk a bit. It was too soupy. Either it was too much milk or it didn't cook correctly in the microwave and didn't absorb like it was supposed to. I made mine banana flavored.:) I will definitely have it again.

I make this without any Davinci syrups but use some vanilla extract, splenda and cinnamon. I also use FF evaporated milk mixed with the water to cook the bulgar in.
Thanks Joanne! No matter how you alter this, it's a keeper!

Joanne, how much is 40g?
This is similar to the recipe posted for "better than rice pudding" on the board.
thanks Jo

This by all means is one of my favorite breakfast. The apricots do flavor it well but I think my favorite is with pineapple, oh it doesn't take much to make heaven and then I use DV coconut syrup and it like a tropical flavor. Oh soooo good.
