I am thinking of trying some of Avon's products. Being pregnant, my skin has gone crazy: breakouts, very, very dry, flaky skin. All over my cheeks, nose and forehead. I bought some Clearisil Total Control and my skin did start clearing up but I think I need to "up the ante".
Let me know if you find something good.

I don't think that you need to spend a fortune on expensive skin care products. I ALWAYS get compliments on how clear my complexion is. Know what? I use the CVS brand of Cetaphil to wash my face and I use Oil of Olay sensitive skin moisturizer (the kind in the jar). And that's it! I also believe that it has a lot to do with just keeping your face clean (not sleeping with makeup on), and being healthy. I drink at least a gallon of water every day and I don't smoke.
I used to use expensive stuff from Clinique, but when I switched to the cheaper stuff, I didn't notice any differences in my complexion. Companies just want you to believe that buying the more expensive stuff will work better.
Good luck! smile.gif

My skin is extremely sensitive and I use Clinque products. Now, I don't use a ton of products. I use moisturizer, lipstick, eye cream, and a few other things. These products work best for me. They are not cheap, but they do last me quite a long time. I have clear skin, with really no breakouts at all. I've had good skin all my life really, which is a blessing.
I use Body Shop bath and shower gel, one with no or little fragrance to it.

FWIW: I am an Oil of Olay gal for cleansing/moisturizing, and an Almay gal for makeup. I have noticed my skin changing over the last 2-3 years, but I think it has more to do with the aging process (I'm almost 37). I see more wrinkles (laughlines) and crow feet. I wear a moisturizer with sunscreen religiously, and my face gets an even "color" about it as the summer progresses.
I love the products I use...they are afforable and readily available in my town, and they work for me smile.gif !

You know -- I've sold Jafra (sort of) on the side, for years. You know what I use on my face? WATER! I only wash my face in the shower with good old water. Of course, I don't wear makeup, so I don't need to wash that off all the time, and I do occasionally wash my face with a little Jafra cleanser if I've been out getting grubby in the garden. Otherwise, it's just plain old water. No moisturizer unless my skin is feeling particularly dry, which it isn't, usually. I get lots of compliments on my complexion.

I was with a girlfriend a few weeks ago who believes in skin care products. I wound up with her at the Erno Lazlo counter at Nordstrom. Like I should even be shopping in Nordstrom? NOT!! :(
Anyway, I purchased a kind of "kit" from them with all the products to make a regime for me & my skin type. It took me 2 weeks to even decide to use the stuff because I've never been able to decide if it's the products that improve my skin or the fact that I'm actually cleaning my skin properly 2 times a day.
Usually I wash once, in the shower. The other reason I hesitated for 2 weeks to use the products is because this purchase was financially frivolous. Since I'm a SAHM, frivolities are really not part of our prudent budget.
I talked myself into using the products today. Of course I'm still not sure. My friend who believes in skin care products & faithfully uses them has better looking skin than I do. Her Mother also has lovely skin and so did the women at the Lazlo counter both times we visited. Of course, a lot of this could be hereditary.
What do you all do/use for your skin care regimen? Do you believe in certain skin care products?
Let's share all of our skin care knowledge!

i am with JMCP...i do best with cetaphil (or it's generic) and neutrogena oil-free moisturizer with spf 15. these are products a dermatologist recommended to me when i was 15 years old. i also do not smoke and drink a ton of water, stay out of the sun (or use suncreen)and never sleep with make-up on. i always get compliments on my skin. i also think genetics plays a big part.
i recently started working at a high end spa and bought a whole slew of expensive products. i've noticed no difference (other than my senitivity to fragrances) so i gave them away... and am back to the basics.
i did an informal survey amongst the aestheticians at the spa and they all said the same thing sunscreen, water and a healthy diet were the most important.....
