I LOVE ebay! It's the way to sell unwanted items. What can I help you with??

Poohgirl-
Thanks for the reply. Hope I don't overwhelm you with my questions! :D
I have purchased a lot from eBay but have never sold. I have read through their sellers guide but I must be dense. It's just not real clear to me. Most of my items will be well under 30.00 and I can't imagine anything going much over 50.00. I have a digital camera. I'd like to have 1 to 2 photos per item. What kind of ad cost am I looking at? From what I understand-I pay to list then pay a fee based on my selling price. What are these costs and when do I pay? What happens if the item doesn't sell?
Regarding forms of payment to accept-any pros or cons on Pay Pal? Do you feel accepting a credit card will make the items sell for higher prices? What kind of fees do they have? Any payment you prefer?
Lastly, how do you handle any taxes you might have to pay on your sales?
I'm sure there are other things I am not thinking of. I appreciate any help.
If you don't want to post here-feel free to PM me. graemlins/wave.gif

EBAY has listing fee's with each item and it's based on your starting price. Anything from 1 cent to 9.99 is 35 cents and it goes up based on things you add. You will be surprised at what you get for your items. We have community yard sales where my daughter and I live. She had 4 pair of Express jeans, they were in wonderful shap, I couldn't get 2.00 per pair for them. I put them on ebay and they went for 92.50!!!! I love paypal, if I am intrested in something I will not bid if they don't accept paypal. My account is a personal account, the business accounts cost you...those are the accounts that accept credit cards. I have never lost a sale due to not accepting credit cards.

The first picture with your listing is free, after that I think it's .10 per photo. Ebay geta a percentage of your sale price. Ebay will invoice you once a month for what you have sold. You will need a credit/debit card on file with them. My ebay name is poohgirlsmom, I have some things on right now if you want to take a look at how I have listed things.

If you want to email me do so at poohgirlsmom@msn.com.

When I ship I try to always use priority mail becasue all priority mail supplies are FREE! I mean everything, from boxes to labels to tape! The post office will deliver them to your door. When you ship priority mail you can print your shipping label at the post office website and get delivery confrimation for free. I never ship something I have sold without delivery confrimation on it. This lets me know that the buyer received their package. This also protects you with paypal, it gives a record the item was shipped because it can be tracked.

If you have more questions, please feel free to let me know......by the way, my name is Patti

Also if you have your own domain you can post as many photos as you want, and they will come out much clearer as well. But you need to know a little bit of html to code them into your listings. If you become a seller on a regular basis I would suggest learning how to do this as you'll have more control over your photos, and where to place them in your auctions.

I also sell on ebay every week. If you need any more help, just let me know. If you want to take a look at my site go to search under the seller tab and put in JeanetteSki2 and you'll get my site. Take a look and see if you have any questions about anything. I'm willing to help if I can. smile.gif
