Well, we finally got a coolspell here in FL & it inspired me to try a new oatmeal recipe.

1/2 C water
1/2 C 1% Vanilla Soy Milk
1 Chai Spice Teabag [I used "STASH" brand & it really packs the punch needed to flavor the whole recipe...don't know about other brands]

bring liquids to boil, remove from heat, steep 5 minutes
remove bag & return to boil
add 1/2 C oatmeal, cook to desired consistency

I then stirred in 1 Tbl. wheat germ & 1 Tbl. DaVinci Vanilla syrup....glorious 3 pt. breakfast!

I'm sure chopped or dried apples would go great in this too...will add some next time. Love that Chai flavor...so autumny :D

Enjoy graemlins/wave.gif

MMMM, I'll have to try this - but I will, of course, need to TWEAK!! :D Mainly because I OWN DV syrup in the SF Chai tea flavor! So I'll just use THAT to sweeten/Chai flavor my oatmeal. Thanks for the great idea, Buddy! graemlins/thumbup.gif

I was looking for another post when I ran across this. I made my bulgur yesterday with DV SF Chai concentrate and milk. YUMMY!

Since I'm lazy here's how I did it.
The night before I put 1 cup of 1% milk in a microwavable bowl and added 40g (1/4 cup) of dry bulgur and a big splash of DV SF Chai concentrate and nuked it for about 2 minutes. Then I let it cool a bit before I put it in the fridge overnight. In the morning I stirred it and reheated it in the microwave.
There was a lot of milk leftover, but I wanted to get the full milk serving so I just drank it off and munched on the yummy bulgur left.
I'm thinking the spices would go really well with some pumpkin, too.
Or maybe a bit of light butter to make it creamier.

Anyway, I thought this thread deserved a bump.

I can't wait to try that. I didn't even know that they sold Chai tea bags. I love Chai and have only used the powder. Which has lots of calories.. I am sure the bags are better

YUMM!

I'm going to try it this way:

1/2 cup water
1/2 cup unsweetened soymilk w/ 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 decaf Chai Spice Teabag (Celestial Seasonings)

bring liquids to boil, remove from heat, steep 5 minutes remove bag & return to boil add 1/2 cup oatmeal, cook to desired consistency. Stir in 1/4 teaspoon white stevia extract powder and a dash of salt. Add more stevia to taste.
