When I started BCB back in August of 2002, I had planned to quit smoking once I reached my goal...well I haven't quite reached it yet though I am alot closer, so I had readjusted my plan to quit on Jan 1, 2004 regardless of my weight...

Well I got sick last week and cigarettes tasted well...yuck!!! Tuesday I only smoked one cigarette and I finally decided enough is enough!!! Yesterday was my first official day not smoking!!!

oh...My name is Trish and I have smoked for 16 years...This is probally my tenth time quitting, but this time I have the tools and attitude I need to succeed!

Good for you Trish. The first big step in quitting is not to pick up that first cig. The quit smoking site at quitsmoking.com is a wonderful support site. Of course come here if you need our help. The difference is that the quit net site has help available 24-7.

If you think you can quit, you will succeed. Whenever you get that urge, tell yourself that you will have one tomorrow, but not today. It worked for me. Many days the nico-demon would work on me. I would tell him that I would have one tomorrow if I felt this bad, but not today.

Good luck to you. Yell if you have to, but don't smoke.

Hugs,
Clara

Still rooting for you Trish. It will get easier. One day at a time. Remember, not one puff, not one single puff. You can do this.

Hugs,
Clara

Just an update on me...

Today is Day 13 of being smoke-free....

It's great....DH has also quit and we've all ready saved $180 since we haven't purchased cigarettes since Nov 29th....
So now that will be extra money in our pocket between 240-300 extra a month...

Trish:

Hard to believe how much money we spent on cig. Make sure your both buy yourself something to celebrate your quit. Just don't make it food. Have a very Merry, smoke-free Christmas.

Keep up the good work.
