Today's topic was "A Reason, A Season, or a Lifetime Featuring Empowering Beliefs Tool - Page 61 of Getting Started booklet.
We also talked about what hobbies we each have in our lives and how they impacted our weight loss.
We were given a sheet as follows:
EMPOWERING BELIEFS
Beliefs are ideas we think are true.
Beliefs strongly influence what we do because they livein our hearts, as well as our heads. Therefore, it's very important to become aware of what you believe about your weight-related outcomes-whether you believe they are desirable and worth it, whether you believe you are capable of achieving them and whether you believe you deserve to achieve them. Your weight-management success will hinge on these three beliefs.
Checking Beliefs:
The following Belief Assessment Sheet can help you see where you stand in relation to the beliefs that will strengthen your motivation to make weight-related change. These beliefs are:
- My goal is desirable and worth it to me.
- I'm capable of achieving my outcome.
- I deserve (am worthy) to achieve my outcome.
1. Write down a one-sentence description of a weight-related outcome that you want to achieve.
2. On a scale of 1 to 5, rate your degree of belief in the outcome in relation to each of the following statements, with 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest degree of belief.
a. My outcome is desirable and worth it to me
b. I cam capable of achieving my outcome
c. I deserve to achieve my outcome.
Any statements with a low rating indicate possible areas of doubt, lack of confidence or resistance. Ask for your Leader's help with them.
We also received 2 sheets entitled "Holiday Recipes"- Easter recipes.
One sheet indicated a few "Easter Candy Point Values" too.
