This weeks meeting topic was Exercise. I try to get 4-5 days/week of exercise, which really helps and it seems to be best if I can get it in early. It kind of sets me up for a more successful day.
I have been a Lifetime Weight Watchers member since 1992, but that does not mean I have continued to stay at my goal weight. I have had three pregnancies since then with my youngest being 9 months old. I rejoined WW this past October to take off the baby weight and once and for all get back to my old healthier self. I have lost 30 pounds and have about 28 to go. I am finding that I am getting more discouraged as the weight loss slows down. I really need some positive feedback on ways to just keep going. I am exercising and have my goal in mind, but sometimes it is just so hard to keep moving ahead. HELP???? What keeps you going when times get tough??

What keeps me going?

First, I posted the most disgusting picture of me on my bathroom mirror! I see it first thing in the morning and last thing at night (I never want to be that person ever again).

Second, I have my 1 pound piece of "My Pet Fat" sitting on my counter near the refrigerator. Needless to say, it's so nasty looking that it keeps most of my family from snacking on "bad" foods. Only thing is, I have to remember to put it away when neighbors come over....toooo many questions!

Third, I keep an exercise journal of date, time, level, etc. and challenge myself to increase my goals for distance, or level each month (I've worked up from a Level 1, 15 min. to Level 6, 45 min. on my elliptical in the past 6 months!)AND I don't beat myself up if I miss a day....life is hectic.

Fourth, I set realistic goals for myself, 1 pound loss each week and I accept the fact that I will have a temporary gain during that TOM.

Hope this helps....

HI Dee,
Thankyou so much for your great ideas. I know that I have a few absolutely disgusting pictures that I can post on my refrigerator. What is the "pet fat" I guess I am not sure what you mean, but that would be pretty gross.
I am really trying to get better about the realistic goals. I know that a pound a week is very good and that any loss goes towards the goal.
I am going to start challenging myself as far as doing more Denise Austin Hit the Spot ab,arms, and thigh workouts. They only take 10 minutes per segment and are very effective if done. I will also be continuing with the WATP tapes.
I have not been able to get the Instant Graemlins to work-so my letter looks boring. How do you get them to work?

Thankyou for writing, it really helped,
Have a great night.

Hi Wendy,

My husband bought me my FAT for a present! I love it. He bought it somewhere in Chicago, I think, but I know there is a website
mypetfat.com
If that doesn't work, let me know!
By the way, he said my 1 pound piece was about $25. Also, it really looks very gross, kind of yellow, jellylike....ewwwww graemlins/crazy.gif
