Board Updates!

Hi Buddies,

This is a major board update, and we have LOTS of new features. 2 Major ones, are now finally fixed - you will not have to log in each time and the boards new topic & post lights are finally working again. Here is are a few other updates:

*** changed signature line from default 100 characters to 300. 300 should allow a good size signature without it being too long

• "Recent Visitors," a more comprehensive implementation of "Who's Online"
• Post preview function
• "Re: " is now added before replies to topics in forum summary.
• "Sticky Threads" (for Generals & Mod's
• "Whistle Alert" Alert Moderators/Generals to a problem post
• Member Directory (click link in upper right my profile | directory login | register | search | faq | forum home
• PM Notification - under your login name, it will now alert you that you have a PM waiting
• Today's Active topic, now has an arrow that will take to straight to the topic
• Today's Active Topics is now a rolling 24 hour period rather then rolling over at midnight every night. Great if you have users in more than one time zone.
• Enhancements to the user search feature
• After a reply or edit, you are now taken to your post in the topic
• Topic authors may now toggle email notification from on to off and vice-versa by editing their post
• Private forums may now be set to disallow new topics or replies (previously, new topics and replies were forced 'on')

• Toggle for last post column (and contents) in forum summary.
• Forum summmary last post now links to the actual post.


More to come - as I am working on upgrading the board with new added features!

OM!!! There are TONS of changes!!! Most I understand, but I'm sure the ones that I don't will make themselves apparent to me in time.
So far, THE COOLEST ones are the cookies and the rolling Today's Active Topics...those are a dream come true!!!! WOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!! graemlins/thumbup.gif graemlins/thumbup.gif
I do have a couple of questions though.
1. Is there any way to bold the titles to the threads on the Today's Active Topics pages? PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!! It is VERY hard to scan down the list of topics as it is right now.
2. On the Today's Active Topics page is there something that I can click that will let me go to the FIRST message instead of always going to the most recent message??? I tried clicking on the message topic link and on the little arrow thing, but I can't seem to find a place to click that takes me to the first post. Is it me???? :confused: Example: say I am new to BCB and I see that someone has bumped the GLOP thread. WHAT THE HECK IS GLOP???? So I click on it to find out what it is and I am taken directly to the BUMP message. It seems that you have to read the first message in 99% of the threads to understand what they are talking about. Does this make sense?

Hello Mudpies,

As always, and despite the fact that I have been away for a long time, your continued support for us is most appreciated. Not actively visiting the site as often as I should, I note there certainly have been lots of changes.

in my absence, and In my role as an Advice RN, I regularly recommend BCB to folks as soon as I hear that they are attempting to lose some pounds. I hear the words WW and recommend a visit to this site.

I have been away, but back in WW due to the usual reason...I need help to shed the weight. Not too big of a backslide this time, but recent diagnosis of Congestive Heart Failure motivated me to renew the effort to reach goal... Back on the Wagon again, and as always, appreciate your efforts to assist in that endeavor.

Late last night when I was on I thought things were fixed. But since I've logged on today I've already gotten 3-4 error pop-ups. Not fun. And my computer is new, so I shouldn't have to be updating my javascript.

the most common errors for me are in the following lines: 57,175,174,316,408,468

I don't know if there's some error in those particular lines or not - my husband did everything possible to fix it on our end (he's really computer smart) and nothing seems to have helped.
