Katie,

This was a discussion on another thread. I'll have to search for it tomorrow & include this link. I was trying to explain that we really don't have a large choice of true whole grain breads in the U.S. And this article proved that to be correct. Thanks! This is so hard to figure out.

Wow, great article. I've been slowly becoming a whole grain junkie! Weeks ago I decided I'd search out "real bread" with whole grains instead of picking it strickly for the points. MUCH more satisfying and delicious. Real is the ONLY way to go.

Laura, I'm a sandwich eater from waaaaay back, and I eat sometimes two sandwiches a day nowadays. I've made the switch completely from white bread to WW bread now, and my NEXT switch is to go with the great, nutty, sweet WW breads and just eat LESS, instead of eating the "lite" breads. I'm working on it! :bcbsalute

Katie, do you do much baking? I posted a recipe on the Breads thread I worked on. It has a lot of goodies in it. I did use some white flour to lighten the texture a bit. I 'm still working on perfecting a totally whole grain bread. Whole grain breads are heavenly toasted as well.

I, too, LOVE sandwiches. I know that Healthy Choice 7 Grain Bread is only 1 point per slice, but I need to research the ingredients to be sure we're dealing with whole grains.

Real bread and grains are the two things I missed so much when I foolishly tried to low-carb it.

Katie, you are so great, I read your posts all the time!(oh great! now I sound like some weird, freaky internet stalker) :bcbsalute
Anyhoo, I want to intro you to my bread of choice. You can find it in almost any health food store.

Ezikiel bread!!!! I love it and have been living on it for about a year. I eat the sesame(way better than the others). I also eat the cinnamon rasin english muffins and the tortillas, The great thing about this bread is that it is flourless its actually sprouted from the live kernal. This is a natural and organic protien bread that does not effect blood sugar!!! I eat this bread and feel great after. It also sudues my usually insatiable appitite. The company has a WEB SITE (www.foodforlife.com/forum) . Check out some of the other products, you won't be dissappointed!

Laura, I don't bake at all! I have a bread maker, but I don't use it. I guess I'm kinda afraid to bake too much because I love bread and may overindulge! But I've long thought that bread-baking is therapeutic, so I'll look at that recipe, and maybe I'll make it. Would be cheaper than buying whole grain bread for sure! :)

Hi, Christina, and what nice things you said! :) I have Ezekiel bread available here locally at the health food store, and I'm glad you gave me a review--I'd wanted to try it, but just hadn't yet. And I got a great article on fiber that I'm gonna post on SHE's at that site, too! Thanks! :bcbsalute
