I really don't understand how vegetable points work. How can a serving be 1/2 cup yet 1 cup of tomatoes or cucumbers be 0 points?

Also, let's say a have a salad. 1 cup of lettuce, 1 cup of tomatoes, 1 cup of cucumbers. That is 5 servings and 0 points.

What if I decide to have 1 cup of celery with my cottage cheese later that day.

Would it still be considered 0 points or because I've had my 5 servings of veg already would it count some points?

The way I understand it, vegetables (except for the starchy ones) have 0 points, and you don't have to count them beyond 5 servings. This has worked for me because I am a really hungry girl! I work out alot and I am a big volume eater (I eat veggies by the pound )!

I also am a volume eater and have had no problem with eating all the veggies I want until now. With the new Flex point I haven't been doing as well and I thought I may be because I'm eating too many veggies. Or, perhaps I need more than 20 points a day to lose weight. I've eaten every single one of my flex points on Friday and Saturday. Mabey I need to spread them out more. I love that I can splurge on the weekend and would hate to give that up.

I'm going to post this in another thread perhaps I'll get more replies.

You can eat as many of the 0-point veggies as you want and they are still 0 points.

Deebie,

I'm a big veggie lover. But this summer the scale wasn't moving. All those 0 pts were great but I needed to add pts to my program. I've been eating those extra flex points and the scale is finally moving. graemlins/wave.gif
