How do you feel about these two statements, and why? 1)The most important thing on WW is to stay within your allotted points, & it doesn't matter that much what you eat. 2)Eating the most nutritious food possible (most days) within your points should be our major objective on WW.

Definately 2 - since I have been on Weight Watchers I have tried lots of vegetable I never would have tried before. Eating healthy and incorpoarting the healthy foods into the daily points is a must. I found the transition to be a lifestyle change...but it does take time and thought on a daily basis.

Definitely #2 - I have always tried to eat healthy, albeit just too much. Prior to joining WW I thought it was OK if I stopped with the Girls for a cocktail or two before coming home to eat dinner. Not no more I limit myself to 2 per sat/sun and that's it. Sometimes not even that many... graemlins/thumbup.gif

#2 definitely! It DOES matter what you eat--you can stay within your allotted points and eat the nutritional equivalent of styrofoam, and that's NOT OP!

Ya know, I think there should be a # 3, LOL. If I had to choose between the 2 I would pick #1!!!

Yes, I know it matters what I eat, but also, thanks to WW, I have the freedom of choice and don't always have to eat the most nutrious food out there. I can have that serving of fries... if I have the points for it!!! :D

I have to agree with Mrs Petersen...I know I should make healthy choices, but what I like about WW is that there is no forbidden food. I can have anything I want as long as I count points.

I choose option #3. Can I do that?? Most of the time I choose healthy. But the beauty of WW is the option to be able to choose or balance in some junk food when I want it. And I can even throw it all to the wind for a special treat and still be OP. Where else can I do that??

#2 in theory, but #1 pops up in the Real World - sometimes I am in situations where I don't control the food and can only control myself.

I also agree with "#3" but I feel that #1 and #2 are important steps along the journey to really focus on and learn from before coming to a balance in between.

#2 for me, because eating those fruits and veggies is the only way I can stay within my points and not feel starving! Plus I want to improve my HEALTH, not just my LOOKS. So much cancer and heart disease and diabetes out there! My sister is 15 lbs. UNDERWEIGHT but she is not healthy-she eats junk. Eating right is just self-defense!

I have found that while some days I do not eat healthy at all, most of the time just being more mindful of what I eat has helped me to eat healthier. I still have some junk, but my diet is healthier than it has ever been. ( hows that for being evasive ;) )

I'm with Lisa!!! I want to eat healthy (most of the time) but I LOVE the freedom of choice. I want to buy sensible clothes, but every now and then I want to buy something extravagant. If I have the money (or points), why not?!?!?

#2, I eat what makes me feel good. Also, because I think my eating habits can become compulsive I try not to focus on lite or fat free, its not about the bulk its about the balance.

hmmmm, I am inbetween, I know 1 is the best option, and I eat alot of salad and fresh vegetables, grilled chicken and shrimp...but I still found myself throwing a few "smart ones" in the shopping trolley

Alot of times my husband is working nights and I don't too much like to cook for myself, and sometimes its just the easiest way to go.

Good question!

Number one allows the compulsive in me (...I have found to never ever say "Never again can I have________"<< fill in the blank )to stay OP, knowing that at anytime I can have what I crave if I'm willing to sacrifice to get it.

Number two is what I strive for.

1)The most important thing on WW is to stay within your allotted points, & it doesn't matter that much what you eat. I don't agree with this, the whole point of the WW points program is not to feel deprived of your favourite things, that's way more imporant than staying in your points range.

2)Eating the most nutritious food possible (most days) within your points should be our major objective on WW. The first times I joined WW, it was to lose weight, and I did good for a bit, but I eventually failed, this time, I joined to healthy, and I have been doing a superb job at it.
