What is the most motivational thing your leader has said or done in your WW meetings?

Two things stand out in my mind. One leader said to stay away from alcohol..they are very empty points, and another leader said to make it simple when measuring, use the guide on the contents part of the package...if it says the package serves six, then split it up into six batches for eating, cooking or whatever. I have done this...and it makes a huge difference to me.

Our Leader lost 35 lbs. and has kept it off for 20 yrs.

It's not what she says. It's how she "acts". She is always upbeat. She never rushes the meetings. She knows some of us by name. She doesn't push WW. products. She knows there are slips and she doesn't embarrass anyone in that area.

I've only missed one meeting since I started and I really felt "down" that week when I could not attend.

She's just a great leader!

I love my leader. She is so encouraging every week. I leave the meeting more upbeat then when I come. She gives everyone that joins a some towel that has a poem about not quiting and says if you ever feel like throwing in the towel just wave this towel and let me try to talk you out of it first. She cares about her members and wants them to succeed. She also does not push weight watcher products. She know most of us by name and will take the time to talk to us if we need it.

I can't think of anything at this time. And that's not a reflection on my past leaders, most of them have been awesome.

But, I was reading this months WW mag and in on the success stories, there was a lady who got on the scale and weight two hundred and something on her first weigh in and started to cry. The leader in that meeting leaned over to her and whispered in her ear "Don't worry honey, you'll never see that number again.".

I almost cried when I read that. What a wonderful thing for that leader to have said. And look, that person story is now in the Mag.

Lisa ~ I read that too and had the same reaction! What a great thing for her leader to say....

I have only had 2 leaders. The first one I loved because she was BCB all the way and didn't know it. She wasn't hard-nosed - but very matter of fact - told us all that we could do it; reminded us that "food functions" weren't nearly as important as the people there; was always full of encouraging words and advice.

My current leader just replaced my first leader (who had to take time off because her hubby is ill). She's a sweet lady, but more on the quiet side and not all that motivating. She has improved in the 5 or so months she's been doing this - but still not all that great. Nice lady though! Does that count???

Just waiting for the new WW. magazine to come in here - surely it will show up next week.

My leader has had to struggle with Maintenance. She always succeeds and she shares that motivation with us.

About 2 weeks ago, our meeting topic was self-worth and how it relates to our weight loss attempts. At the end of the meeting, she handed out large popsicle sticks (like tongue depressors) with "weight" written on one end and "self-worth" on the other. She took out a magic wand and asked us to break our sticks in half at the count of three. She wants us to always remember our weight does not determine our self-worth. I cried. It really touched me. I've never been good at liking myself, but I'm beginning to realize I'm worth taking care of. smile.gif
