What do you think are the most common problems a new buddy faces on program? What tip(s) would you offer to overcome those problems?

Monotony. When I joined WW I ate the same things over and over again because I knew that they were "safe" foods. I didn't have to think about the point values. I got so sick of chicken breast, I still don't eat it very often.

My recommendation is to try to incorporate all types of food, if it is high in point value, eat less of it or pair it with something like a salad drizzled with basamic vinigar. Or come here and find out what everyone else's favorite 3 point breakfast is.

I feel that new buddies may have a tough time learning portion sizes. I was always amazed at what constitutes a "serving" as opposed to what a restaurant considers a serving.

Best advise, make sure to measure and weigh EVERYTHING! By doing this at home, it will better prepare one for estimating a portion size when your at a restaurant or eating at a party where it would look really silly to grab your measuring cups out of your purse!

I would think weighing the meals and journaling. They were hard for me to do on a daily basis.

When I started WW I went FF. The food tasted like cardboard. :(

I would caution buddies to slowly start reducing fat until they find the happy medium. Healthy but good tasting. smile.gif

Transitioning when the honeymoon phase ends. That phase is when I went off program the first time and it is NOT going to happen again. I think it happens to most people a few weeks in where their resolve and will starts to breakdown a little and it is harder to stay in control.
