How do you journal (paper, spreadsheet, Palm pilot, etc)? What do you put in your journal (just food intake, exercise, emotions)?

Since I'm back doing the Winning Points plan, I've been using a steno pad with one page for each day. I track what I eat, drink and exercise. I think I'll probably start tracking the *time* I eat as well so I can identify any patterns.

I use the QuikTrak's they hand out at the meetings.
At our meetings we have a "traveling QuikTrak book" So last week that went home with me and I used that to track.
I track the foods, points, activity, water, fruits & vegs, milk.
I find that the tracking really helps me. It is a vital part of my program.

I use a small memo book. I can put it in my purse. I do not like the new food journals you get at the meetings. They remind me of my checkbook and my checkbook and I are on very shaky grounds. I also write in pencil because I am always changing what I am eating or how much. I try to journal the night before, but life sometimes gets in the way and I need to change.

I purchased several winning points journals before the change to flex points. IMHO those journals are way more user friendly. Perhaps it's because they were the journals I had always used. We tend to like what we're used to. Tried flex point journals, just did NOT like them. After a couple months I bought a couple more winning points journals from a fellow ww member. I think I have one empty journal left. Not sure what I will use after that. Maybe make my own similar to the winning points style.

i've just started back on WW after a year hiatus, and a depressing 20 lb weight gain. i know that journalling is VITAL...so i do. i track my food intake, and exercise points, and this new flex point thingy that im just getting used to. i dont do a seperate count for my fruits/veggies/dairy. i keep track in one of many cute little hardbound journals people get me for christmas' or birthdays since im not a diary keeper.

I use the WW journal every day. I put in recipes, notes from meetings, special point counts and measurements. Just about everything goes in my journal. graemlins/wave.gif

I use the QuikTrak I get each week. I write everything I eat for the day, and add my exercise in at the end. I don't use the check boxes they have, and use as few of flex points as possible (it's nice to have them though!)
I do not carry it with me, so if I have a change in plans or foods change, I write them on a piece of paper and transfer to the QuikTrak when I get home.

I am VERY faithful about using my Quicktrack journal and I really feel it works for me. I like the "checkbook" or countdown system--it really works for me. I am considering starting a small journal for measurements, clothing size changes, compliments rec'ed, meeting notes, etc. What do you all think of this idea? Do any of you have a journal like this? Thought I might put "progress pictures" in it, too! I've only just begun my lifestyle change, but I feel like I've finally found the blueprint for permanent weight loss and weight control!! Yeah, ME!! graemlins/thumbup.gif
I have just bought a new journal.
It's a vibrant purple note book about A4 size.
I journal every single thing I eat, I pre plan, I journal my activity and also how I am feeling generally for the day.
I have drawn up a graph in the back to track my success with loss. I also have drawn up measurements so I can see not just the kilos lost but the measurements as well.

I use a couple of different methods.
An excel spreadsheet-
1 page for daily food plan/journal and thoughts
1 page as a weight loss graph
other misc. motivational pages
MasterCook program-
besides holding my recipes, I make my weekly meal plans in this program
A pretty case-bound journal book-
a page for each month- on one side is stickers representing each day OP. On the other side of the page is a collage of motivational pictures relating to health/exercise/pictures representing things going on during that particular month/etc.

I use my Clie to journal my daily food. It tallies my daily points and my flex points for me. I also mark fruits/veggies , dairy and calculate my activity points. And it's small and easily fits into my purse.
I also have a weekly journal ( notebook), that I write down daily point totals, activity points and steps. I do a total for the week ( points, activity points, and leftover flexies) and calculate a % of available points. I also track monthly and weekly losses in it. I would like to add measurements to the mix, but I haven't been brave enough yet!

I use my QuikTrak journal faithfully each week, recording my points and activity. I would like to make the switch to my pocket pc, but haven't yet found the software to help me out. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Tammy

I use WWOnline to track all my points, but have found it vital to me to have a separate notebook (a cute little polka dot spiral book that can fit in my purse) that allows me to track how I'm feeling about food, what kind of exercise I'm doing (I try to track my minutes as I get in little bits of exercise during the day) and to plan for "situations." When I'm doing that, everything stays on target.

I use QuikTrak that we are given at the meetings, I think these are very easy to use. If I do not journal, it will be a bad day for me. Journalling is vital for my personal weight loss. I highlight between the days, so it is easier to differentiate between the days. I normally try to journal in the morning as I am preparing my breakfast and packing my lunch for work. I keep the QuikTrak in the front pocket of my purse along with my point finder and my membership book. Easy access and always with me.

I use blank notebooks where I write down my menu for the day and keep track of points, fruits and veggies, water and milks. I like the fact that it gives me the flexibility to write down my feelings about the day and identify things that I can do better.
