Which fruits are a big part of your diet? How do you like to eat them? (Raw and plain, baked, etc)
Any tips for working more fruit into an eating plan?

I eat more fruit now than ever. An apple before meals helps curbs my appetite, keeping me OP. Best of all is fresh fruit and I am counting the days until DH and I go strawberry picking. Nothing is better than fresh picked! smile.gif Patty

I find that bananas and strawberries have become the staples of my diet.
I usually have fruit with breakfast (strawberries) and I'll have a banana in the afternoon to stave off those afternoon cravings.
It works great for me !

I love fruit and get it in by planning it with my breakfast and lunch.
Some that I like are:
Apples, tart, crisp, don't care for soft too much
Asian Pears
Bartlett Pears
Grapes
Ugly Fruit
Pomegranate
All melons
Peaches from SC, they are better than GA's peaches
Cherries, both red and white
Dried fruit
Grapefruit
Mango
Pineapple
Plums
Now, of course, I need to consume the variety of these fruits often, but I basically eat the sames things over and over when in season.

How much do I love the title of this thread! graemlins/thumbup.gif ;) Especially because the radio was playing "Bootylicious" when I noticed it! graemlins/crazy.gif There are no coincidences, are there???
I may be the only kid in recorded history whose parents used to drive up to camp on Visiting Day with a bag of plums, peaches and apricots instead of cookies! We used to go to the market and get flats of strawberries, ostensibly for jam-making, but we ended up eating the fruit and then buying SF jam in the supermarket. My mother and I have to negotiate to split the core in the pineapple (it's the very best part!!!)
So you won't be surprised when I tell you that I love fruit and veggies. With the exception of Red Delicious apples, seeded tangerines and certain varieties of pears, there's nothing I don't get excited over.
Today's menu includes my banana at breakfast, a Pink Lady apple at lunchtime and some blueberries this afternoon. I am waiting till payday to buy a box of kiwi berries (they're wicked expensive, but so cute!)

Cordy, this is so funny, my daughter and I do the same thing with pineapple cores. Ages ago, when we used to go to our local farmer's market, we'd take turns holding our hands under the machine they used to core the pineapple in order to catch the core. Lest they throw it away!
Now, thankfully, someone else smart about the pineapple core being the best has decided to sell them in our local Kroger. I buy containers of them for my daughter and I whenever I see them. They are the bomb!

Fruit....YUMMY!!!!lol
I love fruit.
I would have to say that my usuals in the house are bananas, apples, blueberries and strawberries.
The blueberries and strawberries are usually frozen, but I love fresh when in season.

I'm a fruit person(veggie too)...
I love apples and buy them when in season and sometimes bake them with splenda and cinnamon. In fact I have some of those in my fridge right now! They are yummy...
I got some(2 huge bags worth) of grapefruit from my grandparents almost 3 months ago and I'm still eating them!!! I froze them in halves(peeled of course) and they actually aren't too bad... Juicy so sticky fingers but good. I have just enuf to last me through the week! Actually the best way is to freeze them in chunks in a container and eat it with a spoon but I'm lazy...
I follow whats in season and thus on sale mostly... I do love BERRIES of all kinds. Used to pick them in fact when I lived in VT...
I and my younger brothers once picked and froze 35 gallons of assorted wildberries(rasp, black, black rasp, blue and straw berries)... I dream of picking berries!
I miss fresh berries... NOw I occasionaly eat frozen.. My fave: Raspberries.

Ooooo, a favorite topic! I have planted a lot of "edible landscaping" in our orchard. I have a gooseberry tree: The trick is, let the gooseberries get "red" before picking. Then they're SWEET! I also have red and black currants, and Jostaberries: each is wonderfully flavored and have TONS of Vitamin C.
I have loads of sweet seedless grapes, that we eat off the vine and frozen (they can also be dried for raisins).
My favorite blackberry is Marion. There's nothing better than picking and eating berries "just warmed by the sun"...Mmmmmmm~ graemlins/kiss.gif
Cordy~ Do you have to PEEL those little Kiwis? I've heard of them; I'll keep my eyes open...
Oh, and FIGS. We have two large trees. I loved dried figs as a kid, but never had the pleasure of eating a FRESH one. Oh my goodness! They are beautiful and oh so yummy. I take a tiny spoon and eat out the beautiful red insides.
You GUYS!!! NOW I'm HUN-GRY!! graemlins/crazy.gif (And there's nothing like a fresh Gravenstein off the tree...plums so juicy they run down your elbows...peaches that do the same...! :D I love fruit trees!)

I love fruit! I buy whatever is in season. I like to take it in the car with me--I do a lot of driving for work, and this helps me avoid the "drive-thru" routine!
I usually buy apples oranges, and pears, and eat 2-3 a day.

Hi All!!
I love fruit...but don't get to buy enough of it because I'm the only one that eats it and then it spoils if I can't get to it! :(
But I try to get fruit in the following ways:
1. I put dried fruit on top of my cereal smile.gif
2. I keep those lil fruit snack packs at my desk for afternoon snacks
3. I cut up a fresh FUJI Apple for my mid morning snack before I leave the house smile.gif and if you squeeze most of hte air out of the bag it won't brown so much. Fuji have what I consider to be the best flavor smile.gif
Once the summer starts I"ll be making fruit salads etc :)Hope some of this helps smile.gif

oh I love fruit!!
My fav. would be oranges and peaches!
Normally I eat all my fruit raw, even the peach peel.
Occasionally I will have a fruit smoothie made in the blender so good!

Mmmmmmm, love fruit. Funny but I hardly ever touched it before ww
A points worth of dried fruit bits or dried blueberries are excellent in oatmeal. I believe I love all fruits now, especially when in season.
Lately I've been buying California Mineolas from the supermarket. Sooo sweet and juicy. Not sure exactly what they are but they are similar to a navel orange.
Usually have 2-3 servicngs of fruit per day and of course lots of veggies. I believe it's part of the reason I haven't been sick in 1-1/2 years?

I absolutely LOVE fresh cherries. Living in Australia, Cherry come out around Xmas time. So my gift to myself every year is massive amounts of cherries. I eat them just as they are as well as adding them to smoothies and pitting them for use on ceral.

I can't think of one type of fruit I don't like. I love them all. This summer I'm planting an assortment of berry bushes. In stores I have to follow what's in season and cheap because produce is so expensive here.
I only eat raw, fresh fruit. And all I eat in the mornings is fruit, only fruit! I haven't been sick in 3 years, and I have much more energy for my day. I'll never go back to heavy breakfasts again!!

Love fruit but I must say I am "appled out" by this time of the year. I only like fresh fruit and it's still a bit expensive right now. I think fresh fruit and veggies are the best part of summer. graemlins/wave.gif

Living in the midwest I really miss having fresh, fresh fruit most of the year. My favorites are strawberries, watermelon, and blueberries.

I like fruit now ( a whole bunch more than I used to), and try to eat what is in season because it always seems to taste best!
I've been eating:
clementines
oranges
red delicious apples
strawberries are making an appearance in the stores
bananas
pineapple ( yummmm, fresh pineapple)
blueberries
cherries ( I like, but they were prohibitively expensive this year)
A trick I've learned is to take my piece of fruit and put it in a plastic baggie. That way I have an easy container for the core or peelings in case a trash can isn't readily available. It's made fruit so much more portable for me!
Onward and downward we go! :D

I have trouble getting in all my fruit because I don't like a lot of different types. I find myself eating the same fruits over and over again. I'd have to say that bananas, strawberries and grapes are my favorites.
I eat grapes cold out of the fridge, strawberries many different ways and bananas in muffins.

I do love fruit and living in NW indiana, it's seems like ages since anything was in season. I mainly stick to apples and pears and strawberries, but I do love the cherries when there in season (when is that, anyway?LOL) After reading this post I'm tempted to stop at the supermarket and pick up somethings.
It's pretty surprising to hear all the fav fruits people are naming that I've never even heard of! I'm gonna have to look for those things.

Being from So. Calif..we have wonderful fruit here most of the year. I always eat two different fruit each day...it is better than candy to me.
I eat my fruit with; cottage cheese, regular cheese, yogurt, bread, frozen yogurt, jellos, some with milk in a bowl, a treat is whip cream and a dab of fat free chocolate! tongue.gif
